Shelly's Sweet Shoppe — Restaurant in Town of Irondequoit

Don't waste you money! You WILL be disappointed! I give Shelly's a 2 star ONLY because she was able to fit us in, and make a Thanksgiving order at last minute! However I wish she hadn't, I could have made them better myself. Heck wegmans would have been better then this! Don't waste your money here.

I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes, and a chocolate cream pie. The cupcakes were alright, but nothing worth what she charged us! Save your money. The pie however, was not mixed properly. You could taste the separation in the pudding, it was very gritty! Then I've NEVER in my life had a pudding pie WITHOUT whipped cream on it! This was very plain. The crust was under cooked and nasty! There was no whipped cream on it. It was a horrible mess to look at and serve. Then I had to buy a can of whipped cream at wegmans just to finish the pie off! Not good at all! After a not so helpful experience with a "big box" grocery store's bakery, and needing a cake for a last minute party, I decided to try this neighborhood baker. I had eaten her delicious bars and cookies before so I figured her cakes would also be tasty. When I called her she was so helpful and accommodating through the whole ordering process. The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was delicious and fresh, and beautifully presented both in its outer wrapping and in the decorating. Everyone raved about it, and it was nice to have something different and local. The price was close to the same as the big box store but the overall experience was infinitely more enjoyable. We ordered cupcakes and cookies for my daughter’s graduation party. I was setting up for the party and running all over. My ex husband notified someone at the business I’d be there right at close. I got there at 2:07. I was greeted by a miserable woman. I felt terrible and apologized. She said nothing. Gave me my cookies. When I returned back to get my cupcakes she was outside w them and handed them to me. I said thank you and apologized again. She said nothing at all to me. Just rudeness over being 7 minutes late. I know everyone has things to do. But this is a place of business who “should” pride themselves, I would think, on customer service.
