Golden Bridge Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Wide selection of hot food, almost like a mini golden corral, leans toward Spanish style cooking. They rotate what hot foods are out but usually have some kind of hot pasta like stuffed shells or ziti , white and yellow rice, along with at least four or five hot meat specials and all kinds of cold salads. They frequently have spare ribs, portions are generous and prices very reasonable . I got what they call a medium serving of ribs and rice for about 15.00 which was more than enough for both me and my mom for dinner, we are not big eaters but it would be a very healthy portion even for a large man. Not baby back rib quality but still very tasty, some end pieces a little chewy but excellent flavor , I would say good value for the very inexpensive price. The white rice is delicious, they put some kind of seasoning on it that really gives it a nice flavor without overpowering it . I also had their pot roast once and it was awesome, even better than my moms! Golden Bridge evidently is a favorite among the local workers and they line up at lunchtime but the service is fast and efficient. The parking lot is small and parking can be challenging at lunch , Quik Check is right next door and I would advise parking there and walking over if looks crowded in the lot. On the whole I would definitely recommend Golden Bridge as an excellent value the next time you are looking to grab some inexpensive but tasty home...

Responding to Cathy Ahearn, the person below me: I am the owner’s son. I listened in to the hostile phone calls the “nasty owner” you’re referring to, received from your husband, the one who made the purchase. I also saw the CCTV video of when he came in.

Thank you for your response. However, when you make a credit card purchase, it is your responsibility to check what you are being charged. Your husband (the person who made the purchase) declined to sign and even look at the receipt (clearly obvious on our CCTV video). I am not saying that a mistake was not done on our behalf, however; I speak every business everywhere when I say you cant get a refund for something without having a credit card which was used, and a receipt or bank statement showing proof that we over charged you. Over the phone we apologized and offered to refund your money if you brought the card and a bank statement, which you refused. You also threatened our business with false and racist claims of harboring illegal aliens.

This nasty man, you are speaking of, grew up poor and has worked hard his whole entire life to make sure his family progresses. Horrible customer service. Got up charged for extra bacon after already paying for everything $1.95 for this “extra bacon” never in my life have i seen this little bacon be called “extra bacon” and then charged $1.95 extra. Also ordered two pork pupusas and got charged for both and I only received one pork one and the other was cheese yet I was charged for the two pork pupusas.. Ridiculous, I’m now really never going there. Save yourself from being charged an arm and a leg and try another local mom and pop deli that actually cares about...
