The location in east islip is nowhere near the quality of the food at the bay shore location! the service is 1000x better at the bay shore location also. We arrived around 430pm and were seated in the dining area. Our waitress was Megan, who seemed to be off doing her own thing most of our meal. everytime i turned to look for her to get her attention she was standing over by the women's bathroom on her cell phone or chatting it up with co workers. Now as an As.Manager in a restaurant and bar I find this extremely unprofessional and rude. Most times to get her attention i had to raise my hand and wave my hand frantically to get her to come over to order a second round of drinks or to let her know our penne sauce was sour and tasted terrible. The bus boy was more attentive to us then she was. very disgraceful service. 0 of 5 stars We ordered the burrata mulberry and mozz sticks as apps which I enjoyed. We then ordered our meals, Fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken, shrimp and chicken francese with penne ala vodka for the side. The fettuccini alfredo was mediocre at best. I would deffinatley not order it again. I ordered this dish based off of the bayshore locations alfredo which is always amazing! but when I ordered it in this location I was very dissaponted, it had little to no flavor and was quite sour in taste and the amount of chicken given as an add on was extremely scarce, the penne was not good and was sent back which also had a sour taste and was not how vodka sauce should taste by a long shot, seems the cream may have been spoiled. We asked our server to replace the pennewith extra shrimp. No apology or recommendation to have a manager come by to see what could have been wrong. but when we asked for extra shrimp instead of the penne she gave us a nasty attitude stating that it isnt being replaced for the same price and is going to be more which is not the problem for us but more so how she handled the entire situation. She really needs to work on her customer service skills. Despite all of that the chicken and shrimp francese was very good. My father enjoyed his meal very much the replacement shrimp came out quickly and was good. Overall I was not thrilled, i would not return to this location and I will stick to the bayshore location when I do have mulberry street. Was so very sad for me because I absolutley LOVE their bayshore spot! Id recomend you go to that one o have mever been disappointed or had something I...
Read moreAs a former business owner I try to be as kind and objective as I can when writing reviews. This was our first time at Vinnie's. There is plenty of free parking and the building is very appealing from the street which is what drew us to stop in. The decor is upscale and modern with two sides to the restaurant. Once you walk in directly to the left is a fancier sit down restaurant and to the right is a more casual set of booths with a glass counter area of already prepared brick oven pizza's that you can just have heated up. They had a good variety the evening we were there. After a long work day we just wanted to sit down and be waited on so wanted to go to the nicer section with a wait staff and larger dinner menu. We were there at exactly 4:24 - there is a sign that says the section opens at 4:30. We asked the man behind the bar if we could be seated there, get a drink and wait until 4:30 BUT he said NO, you will have to wait until 4:30. NOW 6 minutes early they can't seat you????????? My husband was quite upset and staving so we opted to sit at the booth where you go up and order your food. For 3 slices of pizza, 2 small dinner salads and 1 coke the bill was over $ 25.00 and you have to go to the counter to order pizza that is already made and has been sitting..they just heat it up for you AND it is served on PAPER PLATES, WITH PLASTIC FORKS AND PAPER CUPS. Once we got our food, my cheese only slice was SO greasy it left a large grease smear on my paper plate. I had to sop up the grease which took 7 napkins! My husband ordered a broccoli cheese pizza which he said was okay. Now our salad was a bowl of greens with ONE slice of cucumber, ONE slice of onion, grated carrots & croutons! This for $25.00 !! Needless to say we...
Read moreWe ordered food last night, September 20th around 8pm. The order consisted of what was supposed to be a Margharita pie ( did not remotely resemble a margarita pizza pie). It resembled a deep dish pie, no mozzarella, and a sauce that looked like it was poured out of a 10 lb jar....excessive all over the pie. The dough was thick amd extremely undercooked. The sauce was horrendous leaving all 4 of us with heartburn. We finished only 4 slices and discarded the remainder. The worst part of the meal was the order of lump crabmeqt salad which upon opening, the stench of dead fish made me close the lid. I never took one bite. I had the others smell the dish and everyone agreed. The so called crab meat was either rotten or wasn't crab meat at all. We even tried to see if my friends cat would eat it and the cat smelled it for about 30 seconds and walked away! All of this for an expensive $65. Forgot to mention there was an order of garlic knots which were decent. I am a long standing resident of East Islip and have to say, the food was atrocious and for those prices, the owner and workers should take more pride in their business. Without questuon the worst food/ meal I've had in the last decade that...
