So sorry to leave this review but you took $10+ dollars from me for 2 cups of ice cream, 1 two scoop, 1 one scoop. I don't mind paying, but the 1st one was supposed to be Black Raspberry & it was really vanilla ice cream with light pink food coloring- at least thats what it tasted like. It had NO FLAVOR. If you go in there try it, you'll see. So, I ended up trying a small cup of Chocolate Raspberry just to have something better & it was but not great. They charged $5 something for the 2 scoops & like $1 less for the smaller cup- it came to $10 something because the 1st 2 scoop cup sucked so bad, I threw it out & ordered the 2nd.
I would have rather given the $5 away or thrown it out my car window.
It was such a disappointment. I have gone here since before Covid & cheered them on when they opened back up. I wanted to love this place but cheating out on what your known for, sucks.
The girl who came out from the back room when she heard me complaining said, "we only use all natural ingredients". Well you know what? The last time I was there 2 years ago, your ice cream was supposedly all natural (maybe not) but the black raspberry had a flavor and it was colored purple, looked & tasted like Black Raspberry. So good,, I took a pint/quart home. What I got today looked & tasted like vanilla ice-cream with a few drops of food coloring added & that's what it tasted like. Google Black Raspberry ice-cream & see for yourself. I travel on business throughout many states & this gets the award for the worst Black Raspberry anywhere. Flavorless &...
Read moreOverall, we really like Zoe‘s. The ice cream is delicious, pricey yes but considering it’s fresh, it’s worth it. The brownie sundae is ridiculously delicious and serves 2 (unless you don’t want to share). They usually have one or two dairy free flavors, which I appeciate as someone who is unfortunately newly diagnosed as lactose intolerant. I haven’t had too much of their hot food menu, but the lamb burger is consistently delicious and well seasoned & cooked, and my son enjoys their hotdogs and fries. It can get very busy during the summer, so I wish they had more tables on the grass during the busy season. The staff members are always polite and helpful.
My one annoyance is that the cashiers, in all of my visits, NEVER give a receipt. This irks me, and as an adult, there’s really nothing stopping me from asking for it. When I went this past Saturday with my son for lunch, I had two separate transactions, one for the hot food and then later one for ice cream. There is a sign on the counter noting a 3.99% discount for cash. I paid cash for the food but have no idea if I actually received the discount because the cashier told me the total and I handed her the money. When it came time to get the ice cream, I used my credit card. Please don’t make your customers ask for a receipt and if you’re going to post a sign with a discount for cash, be sure...
Read moreThe location is nice, the staff friendly, and the flavor choices vast. With that being said the ice cream itself was grainy and icy. My friend got his first and when he said that I was like cool that's different I'm okay with that. I wasn't. It wasn't a good grainy and icy which would be ice crystals that give texture. I don't know exactly how to describe it but it wasn't what you would want when you hear grainy and icy. Beyond this the ice cream flavors mild in the ice cream itself. And finally the ice cream felt dry. I know it sounds weird but it was the opposite of creamy and the best way to describe it is dry.
Overall it's a nice place and if you are looking for somewhere to try this place might be good, but if your looking at this place to be a regular at you are going to be disappointed.
Edit (May 19, 2021): I finally was able to try this place again. I think that the ice cream was a little better than I let on last time (could have been the toppings I added though), but my friend said that he did not enjoy his milkshake "it was very watery". It was definitely good enough to stop by when passing through...
