The Broadway location is the second location, after the success of the George Urban Blvd location. In the warm weather, after dinner, it's not unusual to see 50 or more people in line. They are a bit pricey for ice cream, especially for Perry's ice cream, you can get a pint at the grocery store for the cost of a small cone. However, Frostys has a huge selection of flavors of hard ice cream. Their soft ice cream is good, they used to offer over 25 flavors of soft serve, but now you can only get that option at the George urban location. Both locations offer many different sundaes, arctics (which are the same thing as Blizzards at DQ), and flavors of milk shakes. As I already stated, they are pricey, but a kiddie cone or a small is enough for an adult. They are friendly there, but I certainly wouldn't wait almost an hour for service. They also don't have parking, and there is no parking on Broadway, so the side streets (Holland Ave) , and the little side streets that run off Holland (Scott St, Winfield, Maple St, etc.) are parked bumper to bumper. People even block private driveways sometimes. I lived on Holland and Scott for a long time, and there were several times I wanted to take a few rakes, and stand in the middle of MY driveway, and spin in circles, and perform interpretive dance, whilst staying in the borders of my driveway. If you block someone's driveway, causing them to be late for plans, while you are cramming ice cream down your gullet, don't be upset, or surprised when you get to your car, and it's scratched up from the property owner's...
Read moreTwice last year had orders where the cashier didn't charge for something ordered or write it down apparently, after waiting by the pick up window for a while inquired about it, had to go back to the order window and pay for a mistake made on their part. And the order was definitely made because when we go as a family each member orders individually.
Came once earlier this year in the beginning of ice cream season, and we were the only two people in line on either side, one of the two ice cream cones ordered was not given and had to ask where it was, they forgot it. Understandable if it was busy, but we were the only two people there. Gave this place a second chance for the year, long wait for 2 easy items being the only people in line (hard ice cream with hot fudge and a root beer float) just to find the hard ice cream had a hair in it halfway through. Wish I would have taken a picture of it to post in this review. Will NOT be returning. Have gone to this place forever and the quality and service the last 2 summers have been terrible. Will definitely be sticking with the Pink Cow in Alden. 10x better and never any issue whatsoever there. Unfortunately, large portion sizes do not make up for bad service and hair in ice cream. It's a shame because this place used to be...
Read moreStep into a Lancaster tradition at Frosty's, a long-time local favorite that consistently earns high praise. You can't miss their distinctive building right on Broadway, complete with a convenient play area in front for children.
Ordering is a seamless experience: just approach the window to select from a vast array of ice creams, shakes, and other unique specialties, then collect your delicious treat at the opposing window. One of the best surprises? Their legendary portion sizes – expect your order to be at least a size larger than what you'd typically receive elsewhere. Though their prices are in line with other local spots, Frosty's truly excels in delivering unparalleled quality, unique options, and...
