I had visited in the early afternoon and it wasn't very busy so I was seated right away. The ambiance was nice and the dining area seemed clean and well kept. Food: I ordered the meatloaf, with cream of chicken soup as a side. Unfortunately, they did not have any meatloaf ready to serve. This wasn't a big deal, but the server didn't know this before she took the order and she had to come back to inform me a few minutes later. I ended up ordering the chicken and broccoli alfredo, instead. The cream of chicken soup was served quickly and tasted good, seeming to have a nice homestyle flavor to it. I believe the rye bread at the table was store bought, but it tasted good all the same. The chicken and broccoli alfredo tasted alright, nothing special about it, but the alfredo sauce was very thin, almost like a soup. It didn't adhere to the pasta as well as I like it to. Service: The server was very kind and was very apologetic when informing me that they did not have any meatloaf. She was very attentive and quickly refilled our beverages when we were getting low. Given the good quality of service, I will return with the hopes of trying the meatloaf, but I would recommend ordering something other than the chicken and broccoli alfredo.

We had a great dinner. Waitress was so very nicest and was so thoughtful about the sun being in our eyes and asking if we wanted to close the shade on the other side of the restaurant. I had the pork chops which were a bit dry. I wish they served applesauce but otherwise all the food was great! Guest had the fried chicken which was hot, delicious, and crispy. The sides were cooked well, not overcooked and beans and broccoli were still crisp. Mashed potatoes were great as well. Overall a great place. I had previously eaten at the Gardenview which apparently is related to this restaurant but they have completely different menus. We will definitely be back to both. Nice to have a local restaurant like this as so many are struggling. My only complaint was the booths need work. Both of us sunk uncomfortably into our seats which had seen better days and were taped over in multiple spots. It was not appealing and legitimately made the meal uncomfortable. Unpictured, I had a 'white strawberry cake' which was great and came very appetizingly plated with fresh cream and was delicious! Will definitely be back

Stopped on our way through the area, looking for a local gem. The Hillview was a nice option. Service was great. Our waitress was very kind and caring. We were seated in a side dining room. Nice space for a separate event. The meal was excellent. Beef roast very moist and tasty. Grilled vegetables done to perfection. Had chocolate pie for dessert. Was not too sweet. Nice topper to the meal. Also ordered a side of cream of mushroom soup. It was good but a little heavy on the pepper for our liking. Not horrible though. Mashed potatoes were instant which is always a disappointment…although they weren’t bad. They had a dessert case that was tempting and lots of variety. We orders the chocolate pie and rice pudding. Pie was great. Rice pudding portion wasn’t worth $5. More like $3 and that’s being generous.

We were out Christmas shopping when we decided to stop at hilview for dinner When we got there there were three waitresses huddled in a corner staring at the cellphone. The one waitress grabbed a menu said follow me and proceeded to ask us what we wanted to drink before we even sat down.my mom and I knew what we wanted to drinks we told her.my aunt did not know what she wanted so the lady rolled her eyes and walked away.she came back a few minutes later with our drinks and asked my aunt what she wanted to drink. Again my aunt was undecided so she slammed the straws on the table walked away mumbling something under her breath as she left.it was at this time the dr.s office called my mom.my mom was on the phone she came over and attempted take our order. I asked her if she could come back to which she"ive got a large party coming in and I don't know when ilk be able to get back to you" turned around and walked away. About 5 minutes later she came back took our orders and asked my aunt what she wanted to drink and brought her drink back.she disappeared until the food was done. She came back slammed the plates on the table said anything else? I said yes ketchup.she goes to another table where another table asked them for the ketchup and said she has to get back to my pary and walked away. She never came back to check on us and see if we needed anything. I asked one of the other waitress if she could get me and my mom a refill to which she replied I. Not your waitress, asked us what we were drinking and snatched the cup off the table, came back slammed the cups on the table spilling pop all over and walking away. The owner was there clearing off the tables and he was just as miserable as the staff.when we were done eating we cashed out the owner didn't say one word to us. The way we were treated was unacceptable.i used to go there all the time, but we moved so I was excited to be back in the neighborhood to eat in my once favorite restaurant! I don't know if it was just a bad night or what, but the owner and three witnesses that were there were rude and unprofessional.o guess I'll be going back to my new favorite resturaunt, olive branch, where there's a family friendly atmosphere and the owners always there...

Came in as a group of 7 on Memorial Day early afternoon. Online indicated they were open, and there were no signs saying any time changes for the day. When we arrived and were seating, not a single server or, who I can only assume is a manager of some sort, told us that they would be closing early. Most of the food came out in a timely fashion except, funnily enough, the salads that were ordered. Food was good except for the beef of weck, which also originally didn't come out with all of the sides listed for it in the menu. Once all our food finally was out, we ate and caught up since most were from out of town. After awhile, our waitress was hovering over and staring at us. She was understandably doing so because the restaurant was closing soon(this was not indicated to us). Several of us were getting more uncomfortable about the situation until it escalated to when it became 2pm and we were abruptly told they were now closed. One of us didn't finish our food, and we were not asked if we wanted a container. Instead, when they were trying to figure out paying for our meals, the server put straw paper wrappings in the dish and continued to clean off the table.

I am someone who has worked in food and worked on holidays, so I understand how it feels to be in that situation, however this was incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable. I have never felt more embarrassed and disrespected by dining staff in my entire life. It really put a damper on the day, especially since everyone was going on their separate ways once we were going to be done with our meals. All of this could have been easily avoided if the staff told us they were closing early. It wasn't until AFTER we had arrived that they put up white printer paper with sharpie written on it that they were closed and when they were opening again.

This will be our last experience at this establishment, and I will make sure that friends and family know that this is a place that customers are not...

Come here often, usually have no issues at all with the service or food. We specifically come when we are in the mood for dessert because you normally get a large piece of dessert that is super good...

Just went again and had horrible experience overall...

Our server was horrific. She was not pleasant at all, did not ask if we needed anything or check on us, made faces and noises whenever we ordered and asked a question about one of the dinner specials.

Food was good, like always and we were super excited to take our dessert home. We got 1 lemon merenguing pie (which I was told was very good-I don't eat it), and 1 plain cheese cake. This is where the problem is. I open the box for the cheesecake and first of all I am already disappointed just by the looks of it. It was very tiny, like a quarter of a normal piece. Not only was it very tiny, but it was shriveled up like it had been lost in the back of the fridge for a while. Even after this, I still decided to taste it because I wanted it so bad-not a good decision. I took one bite, not even a full bite, and it smelled and tasted so bad, like it was rotten. I threw it in the garbage immediately. Not sure why someone would serve rotten dessert when there were brand new ones in the case.

Overall very disappointed by this last experience. Other than the dinner, everything else was not good. Server should not work...
