We were out Christmas shopping when we decided to stop at hilview for dinner When we got there there were three waitresses huddled in a corner staring at the cellphone. The one waitress grabbed a menu said follow me and proceeded to ask us what we wanted to drink before we even sat down.my mom and I knew what we wanted to drinks we told her.my aunt did not know what she wanted so the lady rolled her eyes and walked away.she came back a few minutes later with our drinks and asked my aunt what she wanted to drink. Again my aunt was undecided so she slammed the straws on the table walked away mumbling something under her breath as she left.it was at this time the dr.s office called my mom.my mom was on the phone she came over and attempted take our order. I asked her if she could come back to which she"ive got a large party coming in and I don't know when ilk be able to get back to you" turned around and walked away. About 5 minutes later she came back took our orders and asked my aunt what she wanted to drink and brought her drink back.she disappeared until the food was done. She came back slammed the plates on the table said anything else? I said yes ketchup.she goes to another table where another table asked them for the ketchup and said she has to get back to my pary and walked away. She never came back to check on us and see if we needed anything. I asked one of the other waitress if she could get me and my mom a refill to which she replied I. Not your waitress, asked us what we were drinking and snatched the cup off the table, came back slammed the cups on the table spilling pop all over and walking away. The owner was there clearing off the tables and he was just as miserable as the staff.when we were done eating we cashed out the owner didn't say one word to us. The way we were treated was unacceptable.i used to go there all the time, but we moved so I was excited to be back in the neighborhood to eat in my once favorite restaurant! I don't know if it was just a bad night or what, but the owner and three witnesses that were there were rude and unprofessional.o guess I'll be going back to my new favorite resturaunt, olive branch, where there's a family friendly atmosphere and the owners always there...
Read moreCame in as a group of 7 on Memorial Day early afternoon. Online indicated they were open, and there were no signs saying any time changes for the day. When we arrived and were seating, not a single server or, who I can only assume is a manager of some sort, told us that they would be closing early. Most of the food came out in a timely fashion except, funnily enough, the salads that were ordered. Food was good except for the beef of weck, which also originally didn't come out with all of the sides listed for it in the menu. Once all our food finally was out, we ate and caught up since most were from out of town. After awhile, our waitress was hovering over and staring at us. She was understandably doing so because the restaurant was closing soon(this was not indicated to us). Several of us were getting more uncomfortable about the situation until it escalated to when it became 2pm and we were abruptly told they were now closed. One of us didn't finish our food, and we were not asked if we wanted a container. Instead, when they were trying to figure out paying for our meals, the server put straw paper wrappings in the dish and continued to clean off the table.
I am someone who has worked in food and worked on holidays, so I understand how it feels to be in that situation, however this was incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable. I have never felt more embarrassed and disrespected by dining staff in my entire life. It really put a damper on the day, especially since everyone was going on their separate ways once we were going to be done with our meals. All of this could have been easily avoided if the staff told us they were closing early. It wasn't until AFTER we had arrived that they put up white printer paper with sharpie written on it that they were closed and when they were opening again.
This will be our last experience at this establishment, and I will make sure that friends and family know that this is a place that customers are not...
Read moreCome here often, usually have no issues at all with the service or food. We specifically come when we are in the mood for dessert because you normally get a large piece of dessert that is super good...
Just went again and had horrible experience overall...
Our server was horrific. She was not pleasant at all, did not ask if we needed anything or check on us, made faces and noises whenever we ordered and asked a question about one of the dinner specials.
Food was good, like always and we were super excited to take our dessert home. We got 1 lemon merenguing pie (which I was told was very good-I don't eat it), and 1 plain cheese cake. This is where the problem is. I open the box for the cheesecake and first of all I am already disappointed just by the looks of it. It was very tiny, like a quarter of a normal piece. Not only was it very tiny, but it was shriveled up like it had been lost in the back of the fridge for a while. Even after this, I still decided to taste it because I wanted it so bad-not a good decision. I took one bite, not even a full bite, and it smelled and tasted so bad, like it was rotten. I threw it in the garbage immediately. Not sure why someone would serve rotten dessert when there were brand new ones in the case.
Overall very disappointed by this last experience. Other than the dinner, everything else was not good. Server should not work...
