Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Town of Cheektowaga

Used to love going to the Depew Location. Love the food and atmosphere. My boyfriend and I went today 12/14/24 to watch the Sabres vs Capitals game at 7pm. I was wearing my Washington Jersey. When I politely ordered a drink at the bar, the older male bartender took care of me. I asked him “you guys are showing the Sabres game tonight right?” He rolled his eyes at me and was extremely rude and said “what a stupid question to ask” I immediately apologized and said “I’m sorry I wasn’t sure because I saw different games on now, and did not see the pregame on” He said “we don’t do pregames here” Meanwhile the Toronto Maple Leafs pregame show was on 5 minutes before the Sabres game started. Right when I sat down back at my table, somehow the Sabres pregame was on all the TVs. I come to watch Bills games at Sidelines all the time because it is less than a mile from my house. We came here after my mother’s funeral next door. I have never had an issue at the Depew location until today. I’m very disappointed how I was belittled and humiliated for simply asking a question. Absolutely terrible customer service. Just because I was wearing a different teams jersey, should not affect the level of service I receive. I was not obnoxious, didn’t yell or cheer. Didn't have or even want food after what I saw sitting at the bar .the bar had no more then 12 people however I find it kind of weird that you have two bartenders and ther more concerned with making sure that the 5 people on one side is taken care of but f...the rest of the other Paying customers there . However back to the food the folks next to me ordered a wick and wings . They sent it back immediately ! Now from my point of view I saw the beef straight red and the gentleman took a little bite of his wing and was like nope . Red flag for me. Now let's go back to the bar where all me and my fiancee wer having a couple drinks and playing some quick draw. I was ignored for a good half hour before asking for my check cause at that point we wanted to just leave. Thank you sidelines for ruining my engagement celebration. However I must say the young lady who was working behind the bar when we first arrived was tremendous and I tipped her very well she deserved it. I will NEVER go back to this place Ever. Rt 78...

A sense of adventure led us to check out Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill, now occupying the old Rt 78 location. Inside, the space felt brighter, boasting a vibrant yellow color scheme and numerous flat-screen TVs. We were seated without delay, and our server provided friendly service, taking our order efficiently. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but we didn't mind, as it offered a chance to unwind and converse. Overall, the food was satisfying, even if it didn't quite reach exceptional status. The chicken fingers were remarkably large, and the fresh-cut fries were a definite hit. Opinions were divided on the Reuben sandwiches and the Buffalo Mac and Cheese, with the latter apparently having been better previously. We're open to giving Sidelines another try and exploring more...
