LOVE this place!! It's like visiting friends, everyone is friendly and helpful. I've visited so often that they have even asked if I wanted my "usual". Definitely worth the trip. They even have dairy free Dole Whip in different flavors (which changes). Their soft serve changes almost weekly (depending on how fast it sells out). My youngest son took the pictures so hopefully you can read and find them helpful.

Used to visit frequently during ice cream season when I lived in Canastota. Moved away several years ago. Stopped in today as I happened to be driving through the area. Kids loved to see the big caboose on the lawn and the ice cream is just as good as always. Sundaes are excellent. Only 4 stars instead of 5, though, because it's 2018 and they don't accept credit cards. I don't like to carry much cash on me since everyone takes plastic these days... so I was directed to the ATM inside. Wound up paying a $2.50 fee for their ATM on top of my bank's own fee for using an outside ATM, all for $11 worth of ice cream. I run a business myself, I know the credit card merchant fee on $11 (if credit was accepted via PayPal or Square) would have been 64 cents. Why not just take credit? No biggie though, next time I happen to be passing through and considering a stop at Zems, I'll just have to make sure I have...

Always delicious ice cream & always happy employee's. It would be cool to see them upgrade the putt-putt golf, nothing is wrong with it but they could certainly make it a little bit bigger & make it a little more 'modern'. Also, the train seems to be a huge hit with kids, adding another part of the train so more kids could check it out at once.. & maybe open up the train, let kids walk through... Don't allow any food/drinks. Hell you could get little train hats made up that had Zems name across... Or train whistles.

Sorry for rambling my ideas... This is a great place to go on a date, go with a group of friends on a nice night, take the whole family... No matter who you are, Zems has something for everyone.

Great family-owned, ran and oriented place. Rick does a lot for the community and has the best ice cream in the central New York area. Never too busy to serve you in a timely fashion, always somewhere to park, and most days throughout the season there is other events happening here. It not always about the ice cream.

9months later, the seasons open again. And as always Rick has upgraded, and expanded. Giving more to offer to...
