The Ellison Lounge — Restaurant in Town of Liberty Grove

My husband and our 2 friends spent 3 nights in Door County last week. We stayed at the newly redecorated and upgraded Ellison Inn and Lounge (formerly the Hillside Inn) in Ellison Bay. We have stayed at this Inn for at least 15 years and feel it is our home away from home. It is quiet, peaceful, charming. Away from the crowds and busy atmosphere of other towns, but only a few minutes from restaurants and shopping of Sister Bay and other spots.Rochelle and Gerald are so warm, friendly and welcoming. Always there to make sure their guests are comfortable. Over the past several months, they have worked very hard and have upgraded and redecorated the Inn from ceiling to carpet always keeping the flavor of mid-century-modern but renovating the rooms and hallway with color schemes new furniture, mattresses, bedding, artwork and details in keeping with present-day comfort standards. My husband and I visited Door County for the first time this week. We've both lived in WI our whole lives and thought it was finally time to take the trip. We stayed at the Ellison Inn for 3 nights. Our stay was great. I love the idea of contactless check-in and had zero issues with the room. I do believe I saw one of the owners a couple times in passing but other than that I didn't see anyone when coming and going or getting ice or water. There was a microwave in the lobby so we were able to heat our leftovers. The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a retro vibe but not in a tacky way. The weather was cooler so we were able to Crack the window and even though there was some construction across the road it didn't bother us any. My only wish is that we would have been able to hang out in the lounge while we were there, unfortunately we were there sunday-wednesday instead of a weekend. We will definitely return and hopefully be able to stay at the Ellison inn again...

The Ellison Inn use to be known as the Hillside Inn in Ellison Bay. The hotel has just been remodeled inside and the rooms have been freshly painted, new carpeting , all organic bedding, and new furnishings. The rooms that face the bay all have picture windows and you can enjoy seeing the bay from them or walk across the street and sit at the waterfront. There is a park for kids to play across the street also and a boat dock. The rooms on the otherside have a scenic view of woods and nature and a huge grass area where there is room to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. They also provide lawn games for you to play if you wish.

The rooms are so clean and beds are very comfortable. Rocelle and Gerald are so hospitable and kind. We've been staying there for quite sometime now and we just love it. Love all the changes they have made. We'll be seeing...
