I used to look forward coming to this place in order to enjoy lunch and get some work done on my laptop. Unfortunately the owners husband was having a bad day and decided to give me a hard time for plugging my computer into the socket. He was passive aggressive and started to duct tape the sockets in front of me and then let me know "this isn't a Starbucks, electricity costs me money" and ensued to badger me about the cost of doing business. I tried explaining that he should've handled the situation differently and that he should be more concerned about maintaining good customers-it didnt matter. I paid $24 that day +$6 tip. Last $30 I'll ever spend there. They really should remove the Woodstock memoribilia because the husband is not about Peace and Love.
A response: You guys still don't get it. That simple exchange could have been handled differently. You guys refuse to even be apologetic to a good customer and local. Yes, I did change my mind about posting as it’s absurd that a cafe would have an issue with a customer using their electricity. There was never a dialogue about risk it was about the cost of electricity. The story doesn't add up, but I do recommend a sign outside stating no laptops or just turn off your wifi to avoid this situation. It sounds like you've encountered this before....
Read moreFloyd and Bobo's Bakery is a large participant in the yearly celebratory Peter Steele's ( lead man for rock band Type O Negative) annual Tree Picnic Celebration held in Prospect Park Brooklyn in October, Halloween and April 14 Pete Steele's day of death remembrance. Both Ellen and Lou have always generously brought pounds and pounds of delicious bakery cakes and cookies to the events over the last 10 plus years. Not only are their bakery goods delicious and tempting, both Ellen and Lou bring along their effivescent personalities, generous nature and down to earth upbringing to the table when at these events, people and fans of Type O Negative come from World Wide to celebrate the life of this dedicated and talented musician and band. Our picnics would not be a hit without the presence of Floyd and Bobo's muncables. Lest we say most all who come to the annual picnics can't resist taking home a little package of multitudes of bakery goods to share with their neighbor's.
As a constant attendee to Pete Steele's Tree Picnic's I've never met two owners who take time to participate personally with their clients, interact and get to know who their patrons are. I've never been to the bakery shop but from personal experience I hear it's the place to stop in town for a...
Read moreI work at the local airport and brought a corporate pilot, who'd been stuck at the airport all day, here for a cappucino on the recommendation of others. Upon entering we did not immediately see an espresso machine so we asked the lovely womam behind the counter and she said yes, pointing to a tidy little unit on the counter behind her. It looked nice and simple but the pilot didnt want a lot of milk, just foam so he asked if they could make him a 'dry cappuccino'. He was answered very aggressively by the gentleman there with the fact "thats a 600 dollar machine! Does that answer your question!" Then muttered a bit made faces and walked to the back. The answer is NO, it does not. The woman said the machine had a setting for it, so she gave it a shot and it did make a, not terrible, dry cappucino. However, on attitude alone I do not think i will be recommending it to any other pilots looking for a place to grab a cuppa. Though the pastry section looked very good and the pilot did enjoy...
