I went to the counter to get a medium Dr. Pepper with no ice. I was charged $1.66, but the ticket didn't print in the kitchen. Instead of just filling up a cup with Dr. Pepper and handing it to me like a competent worker would, since I paid for it and whatnot, they refunded the money. I didn't want the money back, I wanted the drink - that's why I spent the money on the drink. That's how businesses operate. I could understand if they couldn't fulfill the order without a ticket if was extremely busy or if they were short-staffed, but neither were true. Their order screen only showed three orders with under 4 items on each, they had no delivery or pickup orders at the time, and they had over 6 workers in the kitchen including two different managers. On top of that, I went back in line with my girlfriend to figure out what happened, and the person in front of us ordered a large Coke and there were no qualms. There were some network connectivity issues happening, as the kiosks were rebooting, but a back of house issue isn't an excuse to not supply your customer with the order they paid for - especially when it was over something as simple as a drink with no ice. The connectivity issue couldn't have been too significant either as people before and after I ordered were able to get their meals. The employee who took my order went to one of the managers to troubleshoot with them, and I watched as the manager in question made a conscious decision to not complete my order, assumingly because pouring soda into a cup is too difficult to do without a visual aid. I worked in the service industry for over a decade, and if someone came up to me while I was on the floor or if I was behind the counter and told me that I forgot their drink, I'd apologize for the inconvenience and quickly get their drink to them - which is the bare minimum in terms of customer service. If that is too challenging for the managers at this McDonalds to do, they should seek employment elsewhere. Customer service clearly isn't the career...
Read moreI always stop at this McDonald's to purchase four shots of espresso with two sugars and six creams when I am traveling on Route 17 either East or West bound. In addition, I generally order a Sausage Egg McMuffin with no cheese and a lemon wedge in the bag. James who typically operates the drive-thru early in the morning is the BEST! He is extremely friendly, pleasant, warm, courteous, and professional. He provides OUTSTANDING customer service and he treats the guests like human beings as opposed to a"Why are you here bothering me..." attitude. He has a genuine and welcoming smile and he is willing and happy to help! He always ensues that my order is prepared accurately and if they are very busy- he will clearly direct me as where to pull my vehicle to and wait.
My meal is always served to me hot and ready to consume. I am almost 60 years old and I have always been an entrepreneur. However, after marital issues in 2013, I worked my first and only retail job as manager at the second largest Valvoline Instant Oil Change franchise in the world where I was employed for over nine years. On average, I dealt with over 30 guests daily with their second most prized possession. I am adept to what great customer service is and James is definitely world-class! With that being said, I will definitely continue to come to this location whenever I am passing through the Library, New York area on Route 17. Kudos to James for providing an awesome customer...
Read moreThis location does not allow dine-in for customers. Management states this is a corporate policy. Other restaurants in the area have reopened and allow customers to dine-in. This is ridiculous that after over a month the dine-in area has not reopened. They allow staff to sit in the back of the dine-in area with little or no space between them. Why are dine-in customers not yet allowed? This appears to be discriminatory, especially for people with disabilities who need a place to sit down and need a table to use when eating. Dine-in customers should be allowed by now. I understand not allowing the play area to be open at this time due to the COVID-19 virus as young children are not able to be given the shots yet and those under 2 years of age are not required to wear masks so the danger of spreading this virus in a play area is significant. I do not understand McDonald's corporate policy prohibiting...
