Have not been here for a while, and this visit reminded me of why. In general food was good, but here were my downsides: My picky eater son ordered his eggs over medium, they came over Very Hard - not a speck of "runny" yoke anywhere to be found. I like "real" cream/milk in my coffee - they only had Coffee Mate at the tables. Wait person offered and brought 2% milk, I really wanted whole milk, but felt like I would be being a nuisance if I asked. Sausage was a bit "perfumey", Very strong sage/herb taste. Some may like it that way, I don't. My son likes egg and pancakes, but Unlike many diners they only offered one "Combo" of pancakes and eggs called "Super Breakfast" and it was too much food for him. More combo choices would be nice (1 egg, 1 pancake, 1 bacon maybe). Going out to breakfast is a special, once in a while thing for us, so the little things can add up to make it a less than special or...
Read moreWas good food nothing extraordinary however. The bar is obviously set lower considering the rural location. Place this establishment in Buffalo or Rochester and the reviews would most likely be "meh". My turkey bacon club should of been made using larger bread. When it was sliced into quarters in the kitchen, each one of the four pieces were so small it looked like cocktail hors d'oeuvres on my plate! No room for much turkey OR bacon and when you removed the toothpick the whole thing just slid apart before you could get it in your mouth. And if you like mayonnaise like I do, order it on the side because my sandwich barely had enough to taste. The chocolate milkshake was thin and not very chocolaty. Tasted like it was made with skim milk. Judging by all the rave reviews this restaurant gets, I did expect much better and was disappointed. The French fries were served very hot and were quite...
Read moreJack, Ken and Steph’s Breakfast Review took us to Lakeville, NY to the Lakeville Family Restaurant. A family owned diner that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Small diner but very clean and bright with a nautical theme. Amy the waitress was super friendly and kept the coffee coming. Breakfast was delicious. Chris makes a delicious omelette. The hash was from a can but it was super crispy the way hash should be. The portions were good and the price was fair. I didn’t mention how delicious the coffee was. Ken paid forward for a Veteran’s breakfast. So, if you’re in Lakeville and it’s breakfast time, stop in and...
