My first review followed this, but at 2.30 in the morning, the 24-hour diner was closed. Call ahead, please. Having driven 12 miles here, I won't be back. Having a decent 24-hour diner in your area is a rarity these days for security reasons. This one maintains that 50's vibe, has parking, is safe overnight, and has good food and service. Other diners open 24 hours further south in the Bronx, have no parking, and are in bad areas, usually near a taxi stand, a subway station, or both. None of the four other diners in the Bronx are in neighbourhoods safe enough overnight to warrant a visit. But moreover, this one is the best in the area. It is worth the drive. If you are doing overnight videoconferencing with Europe or Asia and need a place to eat and is still not a dive, this place is your place. I sat here unencumbered for two hours, and no one bothered me. That is what you want in a restaurant overnight. That is service. And the food was outstanding.

I was very impressed with BLD’s comprehensive menu and even more delighted when I ordered one of their “ make your own omelettes “ and asked for scallions , tomatoes, mushrooms and cheddar cheese I was blown away by the fresh asparagus and other vegetables that were clearly recently purchased and the omelette was out of this world. It came with the best crispy potato’s with onions and I think it might have been the best breakfast I’ve eat anywhere ( including my own kitchen)! Their service was impeccable and more importantly, BLD Diner is open 24 hours a day! I’m a great believer in being willing to pay more money for exceptional meals and I felt that I definitely got my money’s worth!

Went here with family on. Saturday morning before noon. The place was surprisingly packed considering the early hour, got seated about fifteen minutes after we arrived. Masking is enforced at the door which is clearly labeled with the signage. The place was packed with lots of families along with a constant stream of take out orders from the kitchen. The food was a little on the pricier side for diner fare but all the dishes were well-cooked and tasted fresh. I had an order of avocado toast with smoked salmon which really hit the spot. I would go again, but would probably arrive even earlier to try and avoid the wait.

The worst experience ever arrived around 10pm on a Saturday night with my family. Our table was near front with view of kitchen. We placed order right away . We waited over an hour for our food. Hamburgers should not take so long. When the food finally came 2 orders were completely messed up. A cheeseburger with no cheese served open face . The waiter asked what kind of cheese and was told American but didn't even notice when he grabbed from kitchen window and walked over to our table with it and when we stated it was missing cheese he was trying to say we didn't order it that way. He then brought back to kitchen and took 15 minutes to put cheese on it and place only had a few tables in it. When my son picked up burger to bite it he noticed mold on bread. They also screwed up another order. But the icing on the cake was my order of bacon swiss burger deluxe that took over an hour. I noticed in kitchen window a burger that looked like mine and thought finally but another waitress grabbed and brought to another table in plain view. I could see other table and watched as customer picked up burger and realized not what he ordered. So waitress came picked up and put in the kitchen window shelf as I watched and thought that must have been my order. I watched as it sat there for another 10 minutes getting cold and to my horror the waiter then picked up and tried to serve me this burger. I went ballistic just disgusting it had been brought to another table and touched. Big no no should have gone in garbage and image waiter telling me to calm down and manager doing nothing. He actually made me pay for my soda and tea's after that. Stay away horrible place go further down the road by exit 15 off i95 to that diner . Should be negative stars for...

It feels like any other diner but the food is very good. However, I would suggest to only dine in here. My family and I have never had an issues with food when we dine in. It's very good diner food. Their chicken breakfast sausages are sooo good. Inove their stuffed French toast, and they have amazing sandwiches.

Our issue has always been with takeaway. I'm unsure if the kitchen just gets lazy with food they're sending away because they know the customer is leaving with it so there's less of a chance to get a complaint. We call every time there's a problem. We've had our food burned and still packaged up like it was fine, we've had incorrect orders, missing items, found hair in our food and most recently, even had broken plastic in a container of guacamole.

First of all, it is tube guac, and had I known that, I wouldn't have gotten it. In any case, I asked for a side of guac, and whomever packaged it must have broken the first container. Instead of putting it in another container, they just threw the broken container in another container, and sent it in the bag. The problem is that plastic broke off of the first container, and was on the food. Now, that's concerning, because if we were on site, and the container was glass, would they have just shoveled the food into another container? We could have swallowed that piece of plastic and that could have been very dangerous. I called up and informed the restaurant, and the manager, who is always very nice, apologized profusely, but that was my cue to never order takeaway from them again.

I've given them loads of chances but every single takeaway order, for the past 5 orders with them, have had an issue. I can't say that I will dine in with them...

Was not the greatest experience. Although I live a bit more 'up state' where the prices are bit less than Westchester county, 2 out of 3 of our dinners were a bit under par. 1st of all the coffee was served with milk and not half and half, only to find out after it was poured and then it was too late after that we asked for half and half. My wife's turkey burger was dry and not served with mayo or even offered with mayo or some kind of sauce. I had the Reuben sandwich I thought was pretty poor especially for $14.50 and it only had a few scant slices of corned beef and more sauerkraut than meat. That was not the worst part. My sandwich was quite greasy and actually gave me a stomach ache on the 1.5 hour ride home, but that is not the worst of it, The crust on the grilled bread was so sharp, it actually cut my lip on the first bite! I thought I had ketchup on my lip, but soon I realized it was blood,I checked my food for glass fragments or something until we realized the grilled greasy bread crust was sharp as a knife! It kept bleeding that I could not finish my dinner, and took it home, the next day I re-heated it and got a stomach ache again! I'm sorry, but a Reuben with fries is my 'go to' diner choice and most diners I frequent average $8- $11 and all have 2 to 3 times more pastrami or corned beef. On the plus side, our third person ordered some kind of Quesadilla dish and loved it! The service was quick and attentive I...
