This is undeniably the worst Staples I have ever been to. I came in to have brochures printed for a project and needed help with printing it correctly. A man by the name of Collins attempted to help me but was unsuccessful. I kept trying to print the brochures but was unable to. I tried different methods and was unable to figure it out. I kept asking for help and Collins (visibly annoyed and flustered) did not know how to print my brochures double-sided (right-side up). There was a customer behind me in line who needed help with printing something. There was only one computer available, which was the one that I was using. As time went on, I started getting more anxious as I needed the brochures printed for the next day. I asked for help and was ignored by Collins and another employee at the Print shop. It came to the point in which the customer behind me in line got involved and tried to print the brochures for me. After he and I were both unsuccessful, I asked Collins for help again and he mentioned that my request couldn’t be granted as it was “impossible”… to which I responded that it is possible as his co-worker had printed it for me at that location weeks before. He insisted that I was wrong and asked “Why don’t you print it?” I responded by saying that I don’t work for Staples and that this is not my specialty or job. He continued to argue with me, stating that I was lying about having brochures printed there in the past because it was not doable. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager, Teddy Kang came over and was not able to print on both sides. He then stated that Collins was “THE EXPERT” to which I responded that clearly he is not as he was unable to print double-sided. During this conversation, I called my sister to explain to her how appalled I was at the poor service I was receiving. My sister came in shortly, and within less than five minutes, was able to print the brochures perfectly. Collins was dumbfounded yet offered no apology for accusing me of lying. He just stood there like a deer in the headlights. Teddy, the manager had the look of embarrassment plastered all over his face. Rightfully so. The idiocracy and levels of ignorance from the staff in this establishment is incredible. I was charged $36 for 31 minutes of time that I was not serviced. I asked for a refund. While at the register, I complained about the poor customer service to my sister. Teddy accused me of being disrespectful after mentioning that Collins should have used this as a teaching moment. —My sister mentioned that she was willing to teach him how to print a double-sided brochure. Teddy was also offended and called me out for being disrespectful after I mentioned that my sister should work there since she is better qualified than the staff working there. I quickly recounted that statement and told her that she shouldn’t work there because the workers there are too disrespectful and incompetent. Teddy went back and forth with me non-stop to the point that my sister had to intervene. I told him that in business, the customer is always right. In this instance, I was. Instead of arguing with me, he could have made it his duty to make things right — Acknowledge that him and his associate were wrong, learn a new skill that they could use to help other customers with in the future and apologize for having his associate call me a liar and for the inconvenience, altogether. Instead, he chose to argue with me like a child. I don’t plan on coming back. This was a despicable experience. This didn’t even deserve the one star that it...
Read moreSo, I nearly NEVER write reviews but I felt it necessary to review this time. I also need to point out, I’m giving it a 3 stars for two reasons:
The first time I came to this staples, I came to print. The lady working the printing section was much older and when I asked her questions about the printing rules, what was needed, if we could use the computer etc. she was INCREDIBLY rude. She had no guests at the time and it wasn’t busy. She literally made me feel like she didn’t want to be there or just didn’t want to help me. I’m not sure which one. I was so shocked at the customer service I received, I honestly walked out without getting what I needed printed and instead went to a different staples. What’s worse is I believe she was the manager for the printing section.
Today, I decided to call in advance and the person who answered the phone was so polite and courteous, I felt like I’d give this staples a second chance. I’m glad I did. Ariana at the printing counter today was so nice and really went above and beyond. When I got there, there was a lady ahead of me who was disgustingly rude to her and she didn’t let it phase her! Which says a lot.
I think if it wasn’t for Ariana and the guy who answered the phone (never caught his name), I’d probably be giving this staples a 1 star and never returning. Sometimes bad employees can ruin your experience at a business, and then sometimes great employees can change your perception. As long as I continue to get the same service Ariana gave to me today, this will be the staples I go to. Without hesitation.
And if by chance someone in Head Office sees this review, I don’t think it would be such a terrible decision to give that older lady a performance review. Granted, sometimes people have off days... but truthfully her attitude made it seem like she hated her job and if that’s the case, maybe she would much rather enjoy...
Read moreBeen going here for over 15 years and it gets worse and worse. Not only is the place understaffed, but the few staff members there are wandering around the store and organizing stock. The funny thing about that is that they’re always organizing stick and things are always out of place or out of stock. I’ve had to go get print jobs really frequently these past two weeks and I went there two days ago and although it took a bit they got it done, one employee and about five customers and she had everyone done in about half an hour. Went in again and Ariana told us (only person at the print center) she could not get the job done while we wait because she was in the middle of a holiday rush and there was too much to be done: keep in mind there was one person there asking her something and she had been ignoring the person, so she was doing nothing. Maybe, Ariana, if you actually did something you wouldn’t have so much piling up. There was only one cashier (as usual) which is always frustrating. Last week we had to switch cashiers twice because the registers were apparently broken. Doesn’t staples also sell and repair computers? The irony. This location really needs improvement and the staff needs a change of attitude. The environment when you walk in is not positive, but screams dead and depressed. Sad to see this place...
