The food was AMAZING. My fiancé and I stayed at the Roxbury Motel, abut 20 minutes from the restaurant. We had the sweetest waiter, Guillermo. He was so attentive, and so was the rest of the staff! To start, the salsa was incredible... sweet and spicy! We had guacamole, quesadillas, tortilla soup, enchiladas, burritos and tacos. Everything was perfect. Not too spicy, but such great flavors. Honestly the best salsa, guacamole and tortilla soup I've ever eaten. We also got strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas. They were fantastic. I wish we could move this restaurant to our home town near Albany.

LA Cabana was another default place of mine when I lived in the area, Mexican style restaurant. Family owned for many years I got friendly with the oldest son Renay, a good guy. Always seating at the bar area, pool table and juke box. Food was always good and served quickly. Full seating area of about maybe 15 tables so easy to book a big party. Mostly local crowd at the bar and plenty of street parking. Always had a great time, please visit.

Good Mexican food. Excellent Pina Coladas. Guessing it's family owned.

I went last night. They had a good amount of tables certainly not to capacity. They ran out of chips and guacamole but somehow found chips if you ordered nachos. Then my kids ordered fajitas and after the fajitas came I was told they were out of tortillas. The server said after the food came and I quote “I’m not going to lie, you are not getting tortillas with your fajitas.” I then asked them, if you are out of tortillas then my kids would have ordered something different. They would like to order something different. I was then told they didn’t know they were out of tortillas until they cooked the food. Anyway, somehow 1 minute later tortillas arrived. I am perfectly fine being understanding of the restaurant and kitchen overwhelmed but the lack of customer service or apology for their ineptitude is astounding. I certainly will not be going back It was an exhausting experience dealing with these people who have no regard for customer service. If you are ok with “you get what you get and don’t get upset” then this is the place for you! I do have to say the food is decent but not worth the aggravation if...

Please don't have any expectations that you might have from previous reviews, this place is dying, may be it was ok before, but NOT NOW!!! Soup is water with tomato paste, nothing in there, only tortillas and some tomato pieces, taste omg.....(((( We ordered steak, they asked: how we would like to cook it , I asked medium, they brought meat hardly say it's the steak at all, meat tasted as chlorine and hard to chew, only rice was good, guacamole was from can that you can buy from any grocery store, not home made or any decent restaurant made, quesadilla is the worse we ever had. And the most exciting part: Margarita...: ..it is margarita mix (that selling in any liquor store) on ice cubes, nothing is there, only that mix and ice cubes, no any tequila inside, salt rim is just name salt rim but nothing is there. SO DISAPPOINTED, WANTED THROW UP, SORRY BUT YOU NEED...

Caveat; I lived in Austin, TX for twenty years, so...

My wife and I have been there couple of times. It's a family run place which I enjoy, especially up here in the Catskills.

That said, as good as it might be for the yokels, it didn't do much for me. The salsa and the sauces were a little sweet, and I enjoy a bit of bite in my Ameri-Mex. Not 'heat,' per se, but depth of flavor. With a little heat.

There's a wet bar with limited selection. Rene is a friendly and capable bartender, abuelita throws down decent food, and the son who greets guests seems like a decent enough kid.

All in all, pretty good Ameri-Mex food at decent prices.

Ask Rene for the special recipe salsa for a that flavor and heat, if that's where you wanna go. Keep in mind, it's a seasoning salsa, not what you would...
