I normally don’t like posting reviews, but have a few thoughts of this place. We used to dine here frequently (maybe once or twice a week) over the past 5-10+ years ago. Amendola’s used to be great under the original ownership, which would be Sam and his family. However, the last couple times I stopped in over the past few months, we wanted to dine in at the back but walked out instead. It was completely eerie with no one there except for me and my dad unlike how it used to be busy/hopping with other people.
I’m not trying to talk down about anybody or anything, but if you’re coming here I’d say stick to doing take-out or eating up front (for now). Until they resolve the dine-in atmosphere in the back, I will NOT be coming back. Nonetheless, the food I remember used to be great and it probably still is (despite ownership changes). Though due to the bad dining experiences this year, we’ll be taking my business somewhere else. And...
Read moreStopped in on a whim. Luckily they had a wide variety of pre-made slices to choose from. They all looked great! My wife and I each had one and were satisfied with how filling they were. On top of that, they both tasted AMAZING! I didn't notice prices posted anywhere, and was pleasantly surprised when it was only $3.75 a slice. The atmosphere was great. I grew up in a small college town a few decades ago and it reminded me of the pizzerias from back then. This place is definitely worth trying out.
UPDATE:
Went back a second time, was worried that it wouldn't be as good as I had hyped it up to be in my mind. I was wrong. This place is as awesome as I remembered. Truly top notch!
UPDATE 2:
Been back several times now. This might just be the best pizza this side of Chicago! It never fails to satisfy on selection, taste, or service.
May 2024 Google keeps asking for updates and this place keeps...
Read moreI was excited to try something new and thought the food would be good based off the reviews. Couldn’t have been more disappointed. The food was not fresh tasting and low quality. I’m not a fussy eater at all, but my eggplant rollatini was inedible - I had to throw it away. The sauce was watered down and greasy and the cheese tasted spoiled. My husband ordered a cheese steak sandwich and I clearly stated twice no mushrooms when I ordered over the phone. We come home and there are loads of mushrooms on it. He is highly allergic to mushrooms and could have gotten very sick if he ate it. We will stick to Marinas and Planet Pizza! Never had issues there and have been...
