Empire Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Mount Pleasant

Only went here because of the proximity. Ordered a simple chicken broccoli combo + fried dumpings. By far the WORST chicken broccoli combo I’ve ever had. The broccoli and onion were extremely under cooked. The chicken was very chewy. They didn’t give me fried dumplings but instead they were steamed.

They also charged me 3% fee for using my debit card. This is an illegal fee as the Mastercard and visa contracts mention the fee to only CREDIT CARDS and NOT on debit cards. I will be reporting this business to both respective card networks and hope they get fined as it goes against their contract.

The cherry on top is - they didn’t include plasticware. Nor did they have any for you to grab. When I got to where I was going, I didn’t have anything to eat it with. Maybe instead of including sauces (which I didn’t even ask for) they should include plasticware. Or at the very least ask if you need it.

By far the worst Chinese food restaurant I’ve ever been to. Sorry. Do better.

I wish I could give this no stars. I called to order food and the lady on the phone was rushing me to order. I wasn't done ordering my food when she hung up on me. Ok, I called back to order again.. all she said was "yeah yeah ok i got it" then hangs up. I waited 1hour and 30 minutes for my food to get here. I called back to see what was going on and they told me the food will be here in 3 minutes. 10 more minutes passed and I called again and they said the driver will be here in 5 minutes and that my food was fresh and hot. Once the driver got here, we checked the food and the order was completely wrong and it was very cold. We called back for a refund and she was very mad even though we got our food...

I would've given it 1 or 2 stars, but the price can't be beat and the workers were kind and warm, yet quick. You can tell it's a nice family who runs Empire.

Unfortunately, my standards are a bit high; the chicken (Tso's) was super tough at times, and the teriyaki beef skewers had the cheap "jerky" flavor to it. Egg roll was also just flavorless to me.
