New Hong Kong Chef II — Restaurant in Town of Mount Pleasant

Not appetizing though it appears fresh and delicious. I don’t know why they use this red ketchup like sauce for a garlic sauce. I only tried this place cause it’s close to where I am. Garlic sauce supposed to be brown not ketchup color. I specifically asked for not saucy but it’s still Sauced up. I like the cabbage roll crispy and not too thick wrap. It’s well cooked unlike other Chinese place that sell under cooked egg rolls with thick wrappers. I probably would have like the food if not for the weird sauce they put. It’s not Chinese like cooking. Lol the eggplant I ordered is not fully cooked like it’s rushed. I originally asked for a beef but they say they don’t serve eggplants with beef only chicken. If other places make it with beef what difference does it make! Oh well. U can make string beans, broccoli, mixed vegetable with beef but not with eggplant! What kind of logic...

food is good..but be prepared to wait a long time for your food! This is our 3rd time with a problem. We had 2 delivery issues. both times we waited 1.5 hrs for our food to be delivered. Mind you they were only 4 items. 2nd time same thing. They said the chef is the one who delivers. We don't have a delivery person. So we stopped getting it delivered. Picked it up the last time. No issues. Now we ordered again at 6:30 pm we went to pick it up at 7 pm (they said 20 min we gave 30 min) food still isn't ready. We wait 15 min ask again, they tell us its another 20 min. we walked out. I will never use them again! I could see if this was an isolated incident. But it was not. It has happened to us over the past 6 months. This place has decided not to fix its problems, and has now lost...

Update. I've been going here a lot over the past 6 months and still love it. I now alternate between the Human Beef, Beef or Chicken with garlic sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Love them all. The fried rice is still incredible.

Original That was one good meal. Hunan Beef combo. It came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Ordered through Door Dash to be delivered to the Westchester airport. Was nice and hot. The beef was so tender and good and that was some of the fluffiest fried rice I ever had. Egg roll was also very good and so are the prices. I will definitely order from here again. Can't wait to try more items but that Hunan Beef was so good I'm going to have a hard time not...
