Workers are usually rude but this time it really annoyed me. Came 25 minutes before they closed because I’d just gotten off work, which I assumed was okay, but they’re always annoyed regardless. I asked for a flavor they usually had and she gave me something else. When I tasted and noticed it was the new variation of the flavor they offered I apologized for misreading the menu and asked for a different flavor and she said id have to pay for a new one. I had one bite and it tasted bad but I was trying to be nice about it. I said she could throw it out because I figured that was the stores policy, but she just grabbed it and tossed it. ...we celebrated by stopping off at the Village Creamery in Valhalla for an ice cream cone. They make their own there, and it's worth every penny of the price. I had a scoop of chocolate chunk salted caramel and I think it showed massive self-control that I only had one scoop. I would go out on a limb and say it's the best ice cream in the United States, but the truth is it's only the most recent home-made ice cream I've had. Places like Baskin Robbins and Amy's and Stone Cold Creamery and, yes, even Ben & Jerry's are good -- very good -- but places that make their own, like the Village Creamery, are in the Honors Class of ice cream shops.

Great flavors. My favorite is Coffee Kalua; it's so creamy and just the right amount of Kalua taste with bold, smooth coffee flavor. I will drive miles out of my way between family in Westchester to my home in Putnam, just to get a pint to take home and of course a scoop with hot fudge to sit at the tables on the side walk and enjoy.
