Valhalla Crossing Restaurant and Bar is located next to the train tracks running through Valhalla, NY. While the establishment boasts a clean and well-maintained facility, it unfortunately lacks a distinctive vibe or atmosphere that might make dining a more memorable experience. Our group of six visited the restaurant and found the food to be well plated and generally enjoyable. The portions were relatively generous, providing a good amount of food for each dish. The best way to describe the cuisine would be akin to good home cooking – comforting and familiar, if not particularly adventurous or unique. The seating arrangement consists of simple wooden chairs and tables, contributing to the rather pedestrian feel of the place. While the menu offers a range of basic fare, it does not stand out in terms of creativity or variety. The service met our expectations, being satisfactory without any notable highlights or issues. Every aspect of the meal proceeded smoothly, from ordering to the timely delivery of our dishes. The most notable point is the cost of dining at Valhalla Station. For what can be considered somewhat basic fare, the price of approximately $35 per person, including an 18.5% tip, feels rather steep. While the food was good, the relatively high cost may prevent some people from enjoying this restaurant. In summary, Valhalla Station offers very decent home-cooked style meals in a clean setting with satisfactory service. However, the lack of ambiance and the high menu prices for basic menu items may deter potential repeat customers. My apologies to the owner for originally misstating the amount of the tip - after reviewing my bill it was actually 18.5% which was totally acceptable for a...

Their meatless burger is OUTSTANDING. I wasn’t even vegan before I ordered it but did so on advice of all my friends raving about it. Well, it definitely didn’t disappoint. Not only was it delicious … but missing was the beef taste I thought I enjoyed but later realized was forcing myself into believing I liked when in reality is now perfectly clear I nerved truly liked to begin with.Their meatless burger is simply unbelievable. I was told it’s both fried and steamed for the perfect consistency. TBH I don’t care how it’s prepared. That burger and fries was the catalyst in my switching to a vegan diet. Now 5 months later and 30 lbs lighter without changing much other than replacing cow milk (yuck) to cashew, walnut, almond macadamia and/or oat milk and hamburgers to meatless burgers … I’m happier, healthier, and better looking than ever! My skin is clear, hydrated and smooth. My eye color lightened! I sleep better than I have in years and the brain fog (due to animal fat) is a thing of the past. My hair is back to its former thick and shiny glory. And all because of their juicy meatless wonder!!! It’s an absolute must if you’re going to be eating here. The warm atmosphere is a plus. Great selection of the freshest salads and everything is reasonably priced for the quality of the faire being offered. Also, waiters aren't constantly coming over to interrupt. I suppose because they already know everything is good and aren’t condescendingly imagining you don’t know how to get their attention should you need it. Overall a wonderful experience I won’t...

We will come back, and I expect it’ll be better, but our visit tonight was a “three star” experience at best. The good: most of the food was decent-to-good, and most of the staff were friendly. The bad: I think that part of the problem is that the restaurant is so long, so sitting outside, as we did, meant that we were far from other tables, and we got forgotten frequently. It’s also possible that they were short staffed, meaning our server was busy with other tables. Whatever the reason, there were very long breaks between being seated and ordering, between ordering and getting our food, etc. Appetizer was dropped at the same time as entrees. And after she took our food orders, we never saw our waitress again. Someone else dropped our food, and our waitress never checked on our food, asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert, etc. After sitting for a while, I walked in and paid via a helpful staff member. Our waitress walked by and gave a perfunctory “thanks” but didn’t acknowledge that she’d been MIA, ask if everything was alright, etc. Oh well! Again, we’ll probably come back eventually, but I feel like many people would never return after...

Valhalla Crossing is such a unique spot located in an old train station with part of the dining area inside a vintage train car! The ambiance is casual and relaxing, and if you sit near the tracks, you’ll occasionally see a Metro North train pass by, which adds to the charm without being too disruptive. I had the French dip sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. I’ve tried other items on the menu in the past and they’ve all been solid; definitely a dependable lunch spot when I’m in the area. The only downside was that the service could’ve been more attentive, but it seemed like they might’ve been a bit understaffed when I went. Nothing major, just something to note. Overall, great food in a unique, historic setting and worth checking out if you’re nearby!

I don't really want to rate this place average but unfortunately it has to be done, first things first we ordered a giant pretzel and it wasn't bad at all, the cheese wasn't the best but I can't really knock them for that, overall the giant pretzel was good and recommended (but expensive) however I got the spicy Texas burger for dinner and while it was pretty average, it was very expensive, almost $17 and it's hard to justify a $17 burger when there are other places for cheaper around, they also were out of French fries which was a bit disappointing as the onion rings were not seasoned. Overall it was not the worst experience, however it could have be much better and much cheaper if I went somewhere else
