Horrible..Horrible..Beyond Rude.. on 6/22/19. Please read the whole review. My brother-in-law made reservations few days early for 20+2 family members for surprise Birthday party for my sister on 6/22/19, arrival around 7:30 PM. My niece and her husband reached 15 min early and went inside. Tables were not ready. The owner/lady said it's not the time yet. Lady said we don't set up the tables until everyone arrives because people make reservations and they don't come (🤔). Except for 6 (surprise group), 16 of us arrived, she then set up the tables in 2 different sections. We requested to add 2 more chairs in one section and give one high chair for one year old niece. She refused to accommodate us that way. After lengthy discussions she still did not want to change. She then talked to her husband in their language and then came to us and said let me talk to the person who made the reservations. We told her that it's surprise party to his wife and we cannot call him on this, as he is driving. My daughter, she is five months pregnant got aggravated and said to the lady that looks like you don't want our business. The owner/husband brought out the cake we gave him and put it on the table. At this point we all thought they don't want us there. But we didn't want to spoile the surprise birthday for my sister. My son-in-law took my daughter out to calm her down. In mean time we told the lady to put the cake back and give the high chair. And she point blank said rudely that I didn't give the chair because I don't think you guys are staying. At this point I lost my head and told her that we have three elders around 80's and my legally blind mother with us. We came from Connecticut and my sister and her family they are coming from New Jersey. To make half commute for everyone, my brother-in-law choose this restaurant after looking at the reviews and ratings online. We are here for enjoyment and not to be treated like this. We all were angry. Thanks to the smart young ones in the family and smart phone. We found another restaurant and left this Horrible place. It was matter of rearranging and accommodating the guests happily. They were not busy then, and lady kept saying that it's Friday and what(?) if we get busy (🤔). We were already there and we were going to give them business, it wasn't free. Hope whoever is reading gets the message. Please don't support this kind of behavior/business/people. Thank you...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. We eat a lot of Asian food and this was likely the worst Thai restaurant I have ever been to, in both food and service. First of all the food took forever and the waiter seemed to spend most of his time in the back, never apologizing for the wait or checking in with us. It was so bad we barely tipped and almost left after the appetizers.
Looking back, I wish we left when we had the chance. The food was terrible. Tom kha was watered down and filled with undercooked sliced onions. Pad Thai was goopy and overstarched as if the noodles hadn't been rinsed after boiling, the flavor was ketchup-like. The sauce on the cashew chicken was salty and watery. We couldn't even finish and were both still starving so we ended up order McDonald's down the street.
I seriously cannot believe this restaurant is still in business. I'm not sure if my standards are too high for Thai food so close to NYC but I think this would have been terrible even if it existed in the middle of nowhere.
I would give zero stars if I could. Just not worth your time...
Read moreWife wanted Thai food so used Google and looked at reviews and the Sawddee House of Thai Food came up on top. We entered the place at 4:30 I was worried that the place was overrated from the dirty windows. However, when we entered the Restaurant , it was as if we were in Thailand . The place was clean and decorated with Thailand pictures and design. We were greeted by the owner, Beni. A very polite individual . I commented on the windows and said that when it rains or snow there is always a puddle in the street and when cars come they splash the windows . The Menu was filled with many dishes , appetizers, entrees and soups . You have to pay attention when reading the menu . You select the meat of choice then the noodle that you wanted . The rations were ok . We started with soup, Tom yum ( lemon grass soup and Tom Kha ( Coconut soup) both were fantastic . We selected Chicken Pad Thai abd Beef Pad Thai . Excellent dishes , we ordered Samosa and they were great. Beni said best source for her restaurant is Facebook ....
