Northern Pier Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Newfane

A few coworkers and I decided to give this new restaurant a try. I truly regret it. It took 2 hours to get our food. The sad part is that it was only 6 tables including our party being occupied at this restaurant. We’re understanding in these current times with short staffing in every industry. This wasn’t the case at this restaurant. They had plenty of staff in the front and back of the house.

We order simple meals. A few patty melts, chicken sandwich, soups, appetizers and a grilled cheese. We also received one plate at a time. Grilled cheese sandwich being last smh. It was so bad a few of my coworkers had to take to go boxes because we had to be back at work. I never seen anything like this in a restaurant.The food wasn’t good(bland &unseasoned)and very expensive. Extremely small portions. We also didn’t receive an apology for the long wait or any discount. During the cash out process the owner was arguing with cook in front of us. Complete turnoff. Went here to try for the first time, was not entirely impressed. Our waiter was very friendly and informative. The food was ok. I had the crab stuffed mushrooms, good flavor and my dinner, I had the scallops, broiled, and they came in butter. My side was mashed potatoes, those were good, real, not powder. My husband got the Hungarian stuffed peppers, 3 come in this, they were good. For my husband's dinner, he ordered the NYS steak, it was tough, would have expected a better steak for the price. The meal was just not very impressive. The atmosphere was of an eat-in diner type feel, very casual. The place did fill quite quickly with people. The service was good, quick, and accommodating. We do plan to give this place another try, and I think you should, too. I am a firm believer in giving second chances and not to mention they are newly opening, so they are still getting themselves in order. Give them a try and form your own opinion. Tried this new restaurant out last night and it was a great experience and the food was delicious. I had the NY Strip Steak. It was a nice size, cooked as per my request and was seasoned perfectly. Our server was new and still learning, but he was very nice and was attentive. They were out of a few menu items, but with just recently opening, it is understandable with not knowing how many people they would be serving or what customers would be ordering. So it's better to underestimate their order than over estimate it with only being open this short time.
