I have been a regular customer at this shop for the past 4 years and this record obviously points to the desirable quality of their products. However I was appalled by the treatment I encountered this morning when one of the shop assistants (a young woman in her early twenties with a fair complexion and thick black eyebrows) blatantly refused to serve me, after having waited in line and reached the counter where she was supposed to be taking orders. Her hostile attitude and refusal to serve me prompted customers behind me to intervene. However as she reluctantly took my orders she would refuse a promotional offer from Yelp (one free cookie), without explaining why. This promotion is still going on at the time of this writing. It is important to note that I did not shop there because of the promotion. It is the overall attitude and treatment by this shop and the assistant in particular which is prompting this feedback. I finished my purchase quickly and left the shop, angry over this unexpected experience. I have thought about whether I may have upset her or the shop in any other way but could not come up with any. The only reason is that I look Asian. I am not returning to the shop if it is their policy to discriminate against customers in such a way, in this day and age, and will tell all my friends and acquaintances about this experience until there is an apology. I therefore give the shop 1 star rating because of the shameful way that particular shop assistant had behaved and the shop's inherent condoning of such behavior as representative of what ought to have been a congenial and friendly...
Read moreHad a really bad experience. Had to call multiple times a day to get an answer no voicemail. I finally got through to someone. I had to ask if it was the bakery because the woman who answered just said hello. I asked for a speciality cake but was told that they might not be able to do what I asked for because it is a busy time. But I was told she would let me know if they could at least put some decor on the cake. She said she would call me back with a confirmation. Never did. Then I tried again to contact someone finally my sister reached to out to someone and they messed up the whole order. Had the wrong name written. I called again to confirm. They said they didn’t have the time to decorate the cake which was okay. I told them I wanted to sprinkles on the top and bottom borders of the cake and to have purple writing on it. Finally went to pick the cake. And the whole CAKE was filled with sprinkles and there was silver writing on the cake. I was very upset and told the cashier that it was horrible experience. Admittedly I was a few hours late but met with another staff member. Not realizing the owner does not trust her staff to write down my details... the owner seemed to totally blame me! No apologies for delivering 1 HR late. First I was told "the kitchen was running behind" and then the delivery person tells me she had a flat tire. Hummm. They were my centerpieces and delivered while party was started. I supplies 3 pictures of THEIR decorated cakes and wanted 3 other different flowers on top. Not difficult....6 cakes w 6 different flower arrangements. 2 separate meetings w staff members. A call day before to remind them. Messed up order and no apologies. Do not recommend.
