Fortina — Restaurant in Town of North Castle

Unfortunately my last visit to the Armonk location was an epic fail on their part (3/10/18). They were totally overbooked and could not accommodate the reservations. We arrived with our friends and were told our 4 top would be ready shortly, it was being cleared. The two hosts didn't communicate and it was given to someone else. We then waited 40 minutes (we had a 7pm reservation) and then were told we could take the table right next to the front door and have a crowd of 25 people standing around bumping us with their behinds' in our faces, but that was the only option for the foreseeable future. We were told "you'd better decide or we're giving it away right now." I realize that mistakes are made, but you are in the hospitality industry - show some hospitality! No manager came to speak with me, no apologies were offered, nothing of any sort to make it right. We saw another group take the mentioned table, sit for 5 minutes and then get up and leave. Management has also crowded so many tables into the space that there isn't any area to congregate at the bar. We left in hopes of finding somewhere else to eat at 8pm on a Saturday, which as you can imagine was impossible. Needless to say we won't be back, a shame since I have been dining at Fortina for years, spending a substantial amount of money on food and alcohol each visit. First time coming here over the weekend and we really enjoyed our experience here. We had a reservation and were seated right away.

For drinks we had : " Cutting Class " - a tasty, summery, citrus cocktail. Very refreshing. "Old Glory" - a bourbon based drink that tasted like an old fashioned but better, drink was served beautifully as well.

For Appetizer we decided to get one of their pizzas which was named " All' amatriciana " which contained smoked bacon, onion , chilli, etc. definitely a 10/10 choice, this pizza here is one of the best ive had in Westchester.

Entrees - "Wood Fired Paccheri" - A delicious paccheri pasta with mini meatballs and the sauce resembled vodka sauce. Definitely a 9/10. "Chicken Parm with side salad" - Huge portion size of chicken parmigiana and the chicken was juicy, tender & breaded to perfection. Loved the side salad of mixed greens with the light dressing on top. 9/10.

Desserts - "key lime pie" - Refreshing, citrusy, pretty solid. 8/10. "nutella surprise cannoli"- Fresh filled cannoli with a nice nutella surprise in the center. A little disappointed at the cannoli cream though, it did not contain much Ricotta, if any. The nutella in the center definitely was a nice surprise though. Id give it a 6.5/10.

I’ve never had this terrible of an experience at a restaurant in my life. My girlfriends and I were looking forward to a great meal and left feeling bullied by the staff. My friends and I are all 22 years old. I forgot my ID in my work bag but explained to the waiter that I have a picture of it and also a picture of my passport as well. Our server was extremely rude and then went to grab the “manager” who self identified as “the captain of this ship.” Unsure as to what that means. We were told that physical IDs are apart of their policy but then went to go watch multiple other waiters take drink orders from other customers without asking for their IDs. My one friend and I left to go grab my ID from her apartment- two of our other friends stayed at the table. While we were gone, our waiter, Victoria R, was talking about me and my friends RIGHT BEHIND US. Literally right next to our table. Completely unprofessional and rude. Once I returned, the staff continued to speak poorly about us. If you want to talk about your customers, go in the back!!!!! I ordered my drink at the bar WITH MY ID, and the waiter went up to the bartender afterwards and hounded her to make sure she checked my ID. On a brighter note, the food was incredible.
