Don’t dine here. Cost more. If you must, get to go. Service and music from server in back of the house are not good during lunch hours.
Moral of the story, we got charged an additional $25 dollars not including gratuity that we would not have been charged if we had ordered to go without proper notice or warning.
On a good note, the chicken and hot sauce were very good.
We originally were ordering at the take out window as they did not give us an option for seating until we finished ordering and she asked if that would be for here or to go. When we said, “for here.” She let us know that she could not take our order and that would have to be done at the table in the back of the restaurant.
After we sat down we waited for her to take our order. She did not take our order until after they brought salad and she made our drinks. Nothing changed in our order. She did inform us of a $10 charge to cover the additional person eating the 2 person chicken. Not other fees were mentioned. The size of the chicken brought out does not change either.
Additionally, even though we had asked for the chicken with 2 sides which was $24 in the lobby for lunch, we were charged $32.95 in addition to the $10 charge for additional person. The server also failed to mention that the fried banana side, even though it was a side was not included in the 2 sides that come with the chicken.
We paid $25 to sit.
On another note the music was depressing. They only played break up songs from Taylor swift, Adele and Katy Perry. Nothing against them but in the hour we spent there, only hearing those three artists got...
Read moreI went to the restaurant today for lunch and my experience was excellent. First off the Decour of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re in Portugal- humble and inviting with a Portuguese station on the TV above the bar. I was greeted by the owner Al who was very nice and accommodating. Immediately my waiter brought out some olives and delicious Portuguese bread which I greatly appreciated. I was not given a menu but the waiter told me everything that was on the menu so I opted for a half chicken that came with two side orders. I chose sweet potato fries and black beans which were very large portions and delicious. The chicken was delicious with a little spice to it. I also got a half bottle of Portuguese red wine which was moderately priced at $14. At the end of my meal I was given a pastel de nata on the house which I greatly appreciated. When I received the bill the total was only $28 with the wine. Which I felt was an extraordinary value. I will definitely go back- especially on a Friday when they have Bachalau a Bras as the special. Here are a couple of things I hope the restaurant does to improve for the future:
All in all an excellent meal and I look forward to my next one at Casa...
