Carvel — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I wish zero stars was an option. Wife and I pulled up tonight at 9:47pm, doors were locked. So we knocked, trying to let the lady know we just wanted a box of ice cream sandwiches. The employee yelled at us, told us they’re closed and to “go away.” Seems like this is a common occurrence at the Manhasset location. The lady’s attitude, coupled with her incessant hand gestures across her throat telling us to go away, well it tells me this is the most poorly run ice cream shop in NY. The entire state. This place should simply close down and let a local business serve the community properly. Boo, and the ice cream isn’t even worth an ounce...

So disappointed. I went there 2 weeks ago after a long drive home on a Sunday to get a shake they told me “we don’t have shakes today” I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking it’s Sunday maybe they are out of milk. I go back 2 weeks later on a Friday and still “we don’t have shakes”. They told me they were out of milk. The two customers behind me wanted a shake and just walked out. How do you run an ice cream business with no shakes?! Carvel is not what...

I come here some Wednesdays for the BOGO soft serve. The same two guys are always here and they are always very polite and helpful. Some days there are crowds of kids or families waiting to be served and they still provide good service. I love Carvel in general and this is a good location, very reliable. Parking can be iffy if there isn't anything open on the street but you may just need to find something residential or a block or so...
