Let There Be Bagels — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Absolutely horrendous customer service! I called ahead and placed the order for my office. The lady on the phone was very nice and seemed to know how to take an order. When I went to pick it up 15 minutes later, it was chaos. The was no telling where the line started or who had already been helped. Once I was able to get the attention of one of the associates, she offered to ring me up while my order was being finished (which I greatly appreciated). However when she walked over to the woman preparing my order, she was rudely told not to ring up my order because the lady who was making it wanted to do it. I explained to her that I was in a bit of a hurry and if she could please explain that to her perhaps she would let her do it. Poor lady, I felt so bad because she got spoken to even worse the second time. It was so loud that I was standing on the complete opposite side of the store and felt embarrassed for her and said don't even worry about it because I could hear the unprofessional exchange.

Anyways, I brushed it all off and continued on. As a repeat customer, it was the ONE time I called to inform the manager that my order was messed up. Neither of my salads were chopped, the salad platter with the white fish was untouchable, and one of the Greek salads was literally just lettuce and cheese (I only requested no tomatoes or olives). So $30 later, 3 people had no lunch. When I called the manager, he told me he remembered my order and watched the lady make it so it was fine. Are you kidding me? I even sent a picture of my salad to him and he made it seem like it was my problem. I didn't even want anything, I was merely just informing them that the whole order was barely edible. It was really unbelievable how defensive he was and adamant that my order was fine. Completely useless phone call and waste of time. They can keep the money and any future...

USED TO BE THE BEST SPOT BY FAR. LIVED IN KAUAI FOR 5 YEARS AND WOULD HAVE ANYONE COMING TO VISIT BRING A COUPLE DOZEN LOVED THEM THAT MUCH!

BACK IN TOWN AND WENT 2 WEEKS BACK AND ALL THE "SPECIALS" DIDN'T SEEM SPECIAL AT ALL GETTING AN EXTRA 1X BAGEL A DOZEN VS. BOGO THAT WAS ALWAYS 1 OR 2 DAYS OUT THE WEEK.

THE BACON, EGG N CHEESE I USED TO GET DAILY ON THE WAY TO WORK FOR UNDER 5BUCKZ WITH COFFEE COST ME 9.75+ BUT WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN ASKING FOR AN EXTRA NAPKIN TO BE INCLUDED WASNT AN ADDTIONAL CHARGE!!;) I DO GET IT, BUSINESS TOOK SOME HITS BUT EXPECTING IT TO BE THE REASON THEY NEEDED TO UPDATE PRICING MORE THAN DOUBLE DOESN'T FLY IN MY BOOKS. THESE GUYS HAVE KILLED IT FOR YEARS WITH HUGE MARGINS TO BEGIN WITH SO A COUPLE OF RAINY QUARTERS SHOULDN'T HAVE HURT TO BAD SINCE THE TRUE LABOR COSTS ARE MINIMAL SINCE THEY PAY THEIR WORKERS REALLY BADLY CONSIDERING HOW PROFITABLE THE BUSINESS MODEL IS THAT RELIES SOULY ON THE FOLKS IN THE KICHEN THAT START AT 2 N 3AM ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE DAY. (HUNGOUT IN OLYPIC WINDSURF ALOT AT NIGHT BACK THEN SO ALWAYS HEARD THE MORNING CREW GETTING STARTED TO LET ME KNOW TO GO TO BED ALREADY!)

I FELT THEY WERE JUST TAKING AN OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WEALTHY FOLKS THAT TEND TO RESIDE IN PORT MORE AND MORE ESPECIALLY NOW BUT SCREW THE TRUE LOYAL FOLKS THAT WENT THERE RELIGIOUSLY FOR YEARS THAT DONT HAVE 25 BUCKS FOR A FEW BAGALS

After being a loyal customer for 20+ years, I will never be returning. I walked into the entirely empty bagel store and waited 4 minutes before even being spoken to by an employee, who was rude once she finally decided to take my order. They were out of the type of bagel I wanted, so I just ordered egg bagels. I waited until I got home to check the bag of bagels and that was a big mistake. All three bagels were rock hard and burnt (and I’m assuming also stale). They were completely inedible. I drove back to the store and went in and showed the same employee how the bagels she gave me were rock hard and burnt. I said since they were inedible I just wanted my money back. She didn’t even utter a word to me. She just sighed and handed me my money back. I also found gross hard black things in the tuna salad. I don’t know what they could even be; I just hope they weren’t bugs! There are so many better bagel stores and delis in the area. I don’t know how this place is still in business. Avoid...
