First time trying this spot today, wanted a non-franchise ice cream shop with the kids for dessert after we had gone out to eat. They have some cute unique seating, every little area to sit was different. The high bar top by the window for 2-3, the two tables in front for 4-6 people each, the big comfy chairs by the register, and the high tops by the main bar. Have an extensive menu of different treat options, ice cream, cookies, coffee, and shakes. Tends to be a long wait, even with 3 people tending, as the special treats, sundaes, etc can be time-consuming to make, which I can understand. The main negative thing I will say is that the staff member who took our order looked like she didn’t want to be bothered, was tired, or just overwhelmed, she just wasn’t very approachable. Esp while we were waiting, from the beginning she could’ve just acknowledged our presence and said she’ll be with us soon or something like that. She waited a while to say something, which felt kind of rude in terms of customer service. Overall, I would probably consider coming with a friend to catch up over a coffee or treat, something simple, with the expectation that you won’t be tended to right away. It has a good cute vibe of music and tasty decor - as I always say, it tends to be about the ambiance for me. Wouldn’t say it’s kid friendly either. They also don’t have taste testers for the ice cream, even for kids, which I felt could be at least an option, even if for one. My daughter settled on a chocolate shake for simplicity but she didn’t really like it. I had ordered a small one with no whip cream and she gave us a large with whipped cream. While she did at least honor and charge us for our original order, just goes to show how she wasn’t very attentive to detail, esp as it pertains to customer service. The other two staff members there also didn’t seem to want to be bothered or acknowledge us either, so can’t just put it on just...
Read moreI found out about this place by pure chance but boy am I happy that I found this amazing place. The owner and the staff are extremely nice, polite and treats you like family. Yesterday was my first time ordering bubble tea. I am a very clumsy person so I ended up dropping my whole drink but they made me a brand new one without any cost. Mine you, it was my first time there. It shows that they care about their customers which I genuinely appreciate. Now I am hooked on the bubble tea. Their price is also very reasonable, another reason why I will continue to go there. Even if it was expensive, I would probably still go there because of how nice the owner and the workers are. Maybe not everyday since I am a student but I am so happy to find such an amazing place with very reasonable pricing.
This is absolutely my new spot for food, drinks, desserts and of course my green tea. Plus I don’t live too far from it so it gives me no excuse to try new stuff from their place.
They even have a nice bar area with food and of course deserts. The aesthetic of this place is very nice, welcoming, elegant and just perfect. I picked up dessert one of the dessert today along with bubble tea. I am sooo excited to try it. Also, I can’t wait to bring my fiancé here. I know he will absolutely love it. He is always trying to find a nice place to get some few drinks and some food, so this is something I know he will love.
Overall, i would say this is a hidden gem. Definitely worth trying it out at least once and believe me, you will know exactly what I am talking about. I wish I knew about this place sooner since I live...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came to Nana's Ice Cream and Coffee House excited to try something new, but what I experienced was absolutely disgusting. The blatant racism here is unreal.
When my friend and I (both brown-skinned) placed our order, the staff was rude, dismissive, and impatient. At first, we brushed it off, thinking maybe they were having a bad day. But then, we watched as the same employees turned around and treated the white customers before and after us with warmth, patience, and friendliness. The contrast was undeniable.
To make matters worse, when we asked if our order could be made to-go, one of the employees literally turned his back on us and sarcastically said, "Wasn't it already to-go?" The level of disrespect was shocking.
I later checked reviews and saw that this isn’t an isolated incident—multiple people have called out the racism at this establishment. It’s clear that this place treats people differently based on skin color, and that is absolutely unacceptable.
If you believe in basic human decency, avoid this place at all costs. No business that operates this way deserves support. I hope the owners take a hard look at their staff and their values because this kind of discrimination has no...
