I really don't enjoy writing bad reviews for small businesses but sometimes one's experience is bad enough to justify it. So here goes:
Ordered a Beyond Burger and fries online, picked up the food and headed back to work to eat. Upon opening the burger I found it was undercooked. Very undercooked. In case you're not familiar with what an undercooked Beyond Burger looks and feels like it's a gooey structureless mess that in no way resembles edible food. Well, that's what I got (soggy bun and all). So I called and the owner answered and I explained that the food was undercooked and thus inedible to which he responded "what do you want me to do?" (and not in the "you have options" manner of speaking). Now up until that point I had assumed that when you send food back the desired outcome is a given but apparently not. He offered to "cook it more" for me which meant I was to bring it back, have the sandwich taken apart, burger back on the grill, reassembled and returned to me which I declined and simply asked for a fresh and properly prepared sandwich to which he replied "way ahead of you". Unsure what that implied I headed back to the place. Upon my arrival I was asked if I'd had a Beyond Burger before (I have. Countless times. I cook them regularly at home) and was I aware that they don't cook like a normal hamburger (um...they kinda do). At this point I politely explained to the owner that I was not in the least interested in arguing with him so he capitulated, took the sandwich into the back, opened it up, grabbed a knife and cut into it after which he shook his head, brought the "cook" over so they could both investigate and I can only assume they agreed that it was in fact not cooked thoroughly. The owner walks back up to the front, closes the door to the kitchen to block my otherwise-unobstructed view (it's never a good sign when they don't want to you see what's about to happen) and tells me to wait. A few minutes later I'm handed a bag with what I can only assume is a fresh and ready-to-eat sandwich so I head back to work to eat only to discover that what I'd been handed was the same soggy bun with a reheated (via microwave) patty that had the consistency and structural integrity of a worn-out kitchen sponge. So...into the garbage it went along with 15 bucks and at this point about an hour of my time.
So, congratulations owner of PS Burger: you hubris and the desire to save a few bucks just cost you a customer. At least the...
Read moreDisgusting! My first time there is witnessed the girl behind the counter deliver a burger to a group of guys, the gentleman touched it, opened it and realized it was the wrong order. .same girl came back out and delivered it to another table after watching this. What a disgust...before the girl bit into the burger, I ran over and told her not to eat it. I explained what had just occurred. .the customer was given an attitude when she asked for it to be made over. The same staff winked to the chef in the kitchen as she told him to make another one as she handed it to him. I asked her what the "wink" was for and she stated that's how she communicates with the chef. What an idiot. When I brought home my food there was a hair in my salad...otherwise Burger and wings were ok. I decided to go back tonite and got an attitude from the female staff. The manager didn't seem to care when I told him there was a hair in my salad. I ordered and when I got home , my Burger was completely pink inside! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I called back and spoke to the manager and all he sad was uh huh, what would you like me to do for you? No apologies. ...I don't care how much business they have, they will lose customers if they continue to treat customers like this. So P.S....
Read moreThis place is very close to Winthrop Hospital making it a good place to go while waiting while someone has outpatient surgery. I ordered the PS Texas burger which was very tasty with nice, crisp bacon. I changed up the side and got half onion rings and half sweet potato fries. Very accomodating staff. My sister had the PS Grilled Chicken and Avacado. She wasn't able to finish it because this thing was HUGE! Very generous portions all around. She took half of it home. Since we had a long wait, we decided on dessert. I ordered the Fried Vanilla Ice cream. It was done to perfection. My sister had the Chocolate Brownie with ice cream and caramel. The brownie was nice and warm , just enough to make the ice cream melt down the side of it. It looked really good and again, a generous portion. The time we went( 1:30pm) it wasn't very crowded so we stayed a long while and were not rushed out of the place. Worth stopping in for lunch and in my opinion, prices are very reasonable...
