My company has been ordering lunch weekly from this place for years, first in Hauppauge and now here. Until a few months ago, this place was very good. It seems that a few months ago though this place rapidly went down hill. First our orders were consistently made wrong and correct orders were inconsistently made (some sandwiches had hardly any meat, some had a ton, etc). Then they switched to cheap, store bought salads instead of the wonderful fresh salads they used to make. Finally, after years of getting a bit extra side salad when requesting no pickle, they finally cheaped out and began to give nothing to replace the unwanted pickle.
I do not know if this place changed management or if the old management has just let themselves go. It is such a shame to see a once proud institution reduce itself to wrong orders and cheap salads. We will be taking our money and going elsewhere from now on, and I suggest that everyone else does, too.
Edit: I left this review for Brendel's but realized that was unfair, as it is the new owners under this new name that caused the issue, and I am so annoyed at the lack of quality that I have deleted my review from there and posted it here.
Edit 2: We tried to order here again to give it one last chance, and the idiots couldn't even figure out how to fax us a menu. If you can't even fax a menu, how are you to...
Read moreBeware of what they charge you. Went in for the first time for breakfast. The bagel was indeed fresh and crispy and amazing as it should be. When it was time to pay, I asked the young female cashier how much the tricolor cakes cost, since there are NO PRICE LABELS on the prepackaged food sold in front of the counter. She said $3.99, I said okay and grabbed the package. Then she looked at her screen and said $4.99. So I said no thanks. I had a plain bagel with butter and jelly. She charged me $4.75 plus tax. I looked at the cash register's digital screen which said PB & J Bagel. I told her that I don't have a peanut butter and jelly bagel, that was $2.00 more. She then spoke in Spanish to the guy that made my bagel and he charged me $2.75. I then asked the guy how much were the tricolor cakes. He immediately said $8.99. I said oh my goodness that almost double the price the young lady wanted to charge me. Why are all food items in front of the register not labeled. Why did the person at the cash register not know the prices or spoke English? Why is it that the man handling food was also now touching money? I paid in cash and was not given a receipt. Also wrong. Why are stores not giving receipts when you pay in cash? Do they not claim...
Read moreSo, I work next door to the bagel shop, literally 4 minute walk through parking lot. No matter when I order, what I order, it always takes more than an hour for them to deliver. It could be a bagel with butter, a smoothie, a muffin, it will take an hourrrrr. I wouldn’t mind walking, however in this summer heat being 7 months pregnant why do that when someone else can just quickly ring it next door right!? Anyway! Every time I call the person answering the phone has an attitude. Always rude, sighing heavily when you ask to clarify order because they do tend to screw it up. I’ve also caught them adding their own tip to my bill . Huge no no! You can’t just help yourself to someone else money. I called to ask to speak to a manager the last time I caught it and she knew exactly which order it was because she said she’d return it with no problem without me ever telling her, which means she KNEW she messed up! They ask you how much of a tip you’re going to give almost demanding one and not leaving it up to you to have a choice not to or not after waiting a ridiculous amount of time! I’m never in my life ordering from them again! Customer service, order taker, delivery drivers, and theft, trash!...
