We spontaneously needed a party room for April or May and were left with a few dates in both months as it is the season of communions, baptisms, etc. We went for dinner to try the food and see if we could build the menu for our guests. The service here was very good, all the staff were polite and friendly. We started out with Moscow Mules and they were decently made. The basket of warmed up Italian and pizza breads on the table was eh, okay, but just very doughy. The baked clams were nothing to write home about by any means, fried calamari was not very good at all and the sauce it comes with was so bland đ© Bacon wrapped shrimp was nicely cooked but the accompanying sauce seemed very mayo heavy, and could have used a little more dijon to conrast the bacon. Eggplant rollatini was pretty good, too. I was excited to try the Marylynn salad, which we asked to be made with romaine lettuce only, and they had no issue accommodating us. The salad itself was very nice, but it was topped with a creamy mayo based dressing? In the description, I believe it's made with an orange vinaigrette, but this was not orange and had no acidity whatsoever. Finally, for our entree, we ordered the Chicken Toscana, and it just wasn't for me. The chicken breast seemed a bit hard, and the eggplant and sauce on top wasn't very good. The fontina cheese didn't seem to work with the other ingredients, in our opinion. I did like the side of potatoes and vegetables. That was cooked very well and tasted delicious. Before leaving we asked to see the party room. We were told there were private bathrooms but it looked like the main bathroom in the hallway was what they were referring to. The owners daughter was very nice and accommodating with anything we asked about. I do feel that the pictures online give a different impression, as the room was very small and there were a couple of ceiling tiles that were hanging and noticeable. Overall, we booked this place and were going to remain committed, but we found ourselves asking for our deposit back due to unforseen events. In hindsight, I am kind of happy that we had to cancel our party here, it just wasn't the impression I wanted to leave my guests with...
Read moreChristmas Eve 5:00 PM reservation, not yet crowded I start off with 2 cold appetizers hot seafood platter, which wasn't very good or actually hot by the way and Fried Mozzarella with a wine caper sauce, would have been good if the cheese was actually melted. I tell my waiter and he says it's cold because we ate seafood first, no it's cold because you served it cold and quite frankly I'm not sure how he'd know what we ate first, because we actually did try mozzarella first then ate the seafood while we waited for him to come around so I could tell him. I ordered a veal dish in a chestnut sauce, very good, only problem, for $28 bucks you get 2 veal cutlets swimming in the sauce and that's it, not even a side veggie or anything else, so if you're hungry, I wouldn't recommend it. My wife had a sausage and pink sauce with pasta, this was excellent, probably the best thing we were served. Now I get my $177 dollar check, I leave a $40 dollar cash tip, another $10 to the valet annnnddd they did the one thing that's really turning me off to places lately, THEY CHARGED A CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE! I'm sorry, I get Covid times have been tough but if you need more money raise your prices to account that 90% of your business is credit card, that way I can make a decision if I want to come or not! I'm pretty sure CC fees are maybe 3% so not exactly sure why I paid $12 bucks on $177 anyway. I used to enjoy this restaurant but this was my 2nd sub par experience in a row, everyone is nice and friendly, good atmosphere, but when you drop $240 to go out to dinner, it shouldn't lack so...
Read moreI went to tesoro for the first time on valentineâs day. My experience was horrible. Food was on the pricier end but i donât mind paying if food and service is good. Food took close to an hour to arrive. When the food came they gave it to the wrong table by mistake and then brought it back to our table. My lamb chops were way past over cooked when i asked for medium well. The sauce they put on it was disgusting. The lamb had a bad smell. I couldnt finish my last 2 lamb chops because of the smell it had. I asked for pasta on the side and first they forgot to bring it with my entree and then they took my plate away and brought it back saying theyâll bring pasta later. When the pasta came it was over cooked as well. My husband ordered steak and it was also overcooked. They said the steak and lamb chop comes with mixed veges on the side. We did not get any mixed veges. We told them about our entrees being overcooked they said theyâd give us desert on the house but they never did. My husband took his card out and put his card on the table and asked for the check instead the waiter took the initiative to take the card from the table without bringing a detailed check. I will never ever go back to this place. I paid $137 for food i was barely...
