Tropical Jerk Westbury — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I’ve been to other Tropical Jerk locations in the past and was excited for this one. The stew chicken and salmon are a hit or miss. I’ve had both about 3 times and 2 out of the 3 they were a little dry. Rice and peas not cooked all the way. Plantains have been dry and not sweet or fully ripe. Patties have been good but the cocoa bread is a hit or miss as well. The one I had this week was hard on the top. They were kind enough to give me another one. Oxtail so far so good. Jerk wings are probably my favorite from this location. Overall quick and easy service. Sometimes the lady in front is stush or will say one thing about the menu and when you ask for something she just said was available they don’t have it. I’d come back again for convenience just have to be prepared to possibly be disappointed. Parking is what it is being on Prospect Avenue. You may find parking in the front or in the laundromat...

Just paid $26 for oxtails with Rasta pasta. It looks good but tastes awful. The food was good when they first opened a couple months ago but I’m very disappointed with this meal today. I was hungry and just lost my appetite after the first bite. I’m from westbury and won’t coming back I much rather take the drive out of town to Hempstead or Queens to get some real flavorful Jamaican food. The staff is great but the food needs some work. I was not going to write this review but after to visit leave me no choice. Prior to today visit I got a large red peas soup with beef but the beef need to be cut up in smaller pieces. The size of the beef is so big it can handle fit in the cup. Today I got a large goat head soup and it’s the same scenario, it’s like they cut the head off and drop the whole head in the pot….Management if you want to keep getting my Business please converse with your staff and get these meat cut up smaller for the...
