Kirazu Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

I really enjoyed this little spot. I dont know if anyone else is like me, where if i see a small little hole in a wall restaurant, it just gets me even more excited to try them out. It just feels more authentic to me, and the foods always delicious (at least for me and from my experiences). Anyways, i stopped in with a colleague for lunch, and upon walking in, you can tell that there isn't much room to have a big party, but it's quaint and cozy, and the vibes were great. We ordered some beers and some sake and had quite the lunch. The yellowtail sushi and the rolls were so yummy i had to order at least 3 times, which says a lot since i am picky with where i eat my sushi and only go to one spot in brooklyn and have been for the last 5 years but this spot i had to try out. The miso soup was on point as well as the salad with ginger sauce. The music really had me going back in time they had some beats playing from way way back in the days... it was almost nostalgic and even some more recent ones for some flare lol. I enjoyed the fact that it was not crowded and i felt like we were able to have a nice conversation with the owner and have a more interactive personal experience without the distractions of having to share the space with multiple people and parties. We came in and we're greeted by Bobby, he was kind and very attentive. Ana took or order, she was friendly and quick! Billy, now Billy! He is Superman! He's the one that put our rolls together! He was quick and graceful! He chopped super fast and exact!

The food.... Omg the food! We wanted to come in for a light bite... But we ended up ordering more than we expected.

We orderd the Spicy Tuna roll, Peanut Avocado Roll & the Chicken Tempura roll along with the specialty TNT roll.

Spicy Tuna roll - fresh, kicky & flavorful! Chicken Tempura roll - not greasy, well flavored and all around the perfect crunch! Peanut Avocado- first time trying it, and it was good! Perfect roll for lunch time or to go with something. I liked it! Now .. the TNT roll.... H E A V E N!!!!! OMGOODNESSSS! It had Spicy Tuna, Shrimp Tempura, Mango, Avocado and Im pretty sure soemthing else but can't remember ..... That was AMAZING... That we ordered ANOTHER ONE, AGAIN!!!! So worth it.

So I'm in this shopping center often but this is my first time at Kirazu Sushi. There are about 3 dine in table plus a few seats at the sushi bar. I sat at the sushi bar with my husband. It was a busy night, lots of takeout orders and all tables filled. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant-fun music playing you want to sing along to. All other customers were returning customers, the owner greeted many by first name. Lovely waitress who was kind and the sushi chef was non stop making sushi for everyone. The staff running the restaurant said it was a busy night so the sushi might take a little longer. It wasn't an issue at all because it was so nice listening to the music they had playing on a stereo and we ordered and enjoying our night. Once the food was served, I thought my sushi was great. I'm a lover of a dragon roll and sushi sandwich and the sushi chef did a great job with the ratio of all ingredients and flavors. I was really pleased with my meal and so was my husband.
