We order from here maybe once every 2 months. For a while now their Tzatziki sauce hasn’t been that great and the pita bread always comes hard. Tonight my son ordered a gyro with fries. The fries were brown but yet they were soggy. How is that possible? My pork souvlaki had an unusually taste- it wasn’t bad but it definitely didn’t taste Greek. My daughter ordered the rice pilaf and it was Al dente…rice isn’t suppose to be firm! She also ordered crab cakes and those are usually delicious. They were burnt on top the rest was fine, but it also tasted different. The soup was delicious which is why I gave them a 2. We won’t be ordering again. I would’ve called to complain, but by the time we got our food they were closed.

Haven't tried this place in years. Order the Pastitio lunch special. I can say that I have had better at other places. The flavor was a bit off to me. I do know that everyplace has a different way of making things. I think maybe they had an off day or this was left over from the weekend. I would say what saved the day was the Greek salad. It was really good. The only thing is too much dressing makes the dish soggy after just a little while. Maybe would try again in peak hours

A family run Greek restaurant. The food is tasty and authentic. Service is attentive and fast. They kept the restaurant open after closing time to accommodate us. Options available for different dietary restrictions. The Souvlaki is really good and charred to perfection. The Lemon Chicken soup was the perfect appetizer. The wine list is decent. Dessert options are limited but the Rice Pudding was done just right and not too sweet.

If you want FROZEN soggy, sinewy strings hanging calamari you can find it at OPA Grille in Bethpage along with hard as a rock canned stuffed grape leaf. As an international chef who eats a Mediterranean diet daily, I was so looking forward to their lunch special but was enormously disappointed. As good as it was a few weeks ago when I ordered pasticchio and another time moussaka and garlic spinach, it’s obvious the owner is not using FRESH ingredients but getting OLD hard product and poor quality UNAUTHENTIC calamari which neither is expensive to buy fresh and delicious. Perhaps he’s saving on a real chef in the kitchen too with a line cook who only knows how to fry things, not making them truly Greek from scratch. Every Greek restaurant always makes Fried calamari with flour. When I asked the waitress about the calamari BEFORE ordering if it was coated with flour and nothing else, it was NOT TRUE. Owner is trying to shorten the preparation time by buying READY-MADE INFERIOR items thinking he’ll FOOL the customers but he’s only fooling himself because he’s doing away with all customers. They’re not stupid and know the DRASTIC difference between fresh , homemade, and CRAP! Never heard of dolmates being hard and my favorite brand of canned is Santorini due to its SOFTNESS and lemony sauce in the can- NEVER in a million years was this Santorini brand. The waitress told him to hold up the can to show it to me— you guessed it, he didn’t! Hard as a BONE or brick is definitely NOT Santorini brand’s texture or quality or taste because It’s MY personal favorite, I guess OPA’’s owner is writing a book on how to RUIN a restaurant overnight!!! Last time I ate there, every table was occupied, but not so today. Do you wonder...

While we have been to Opa Grill, the one in New Hyde Park a number of times and the food was always good. Being Greek it's nice to have a place go to, since my YaiYai has passed. I had to write about dinner last night. I had ordered one of the specials Scallops and Shrimp with crabmeat. As I ate the first Scallop the taste was off, so I tried the second one and the taste really wasn't good at all, took a piece of the 3rd one and I couldn't eat it. Had my husband try it and said it was off. Whether it was the Scallop or the seasoning, its what happened next that appalled me. I told the waitress about the food and she asked if it was fishy and I said yes, but it tasted off. She asked if I would like something else and I got an app. I'm facing the bar so I could see everything. She told the manager, who by the way never came over once to say anything. Then 5 minutes later the manager comes out with a plate of Scallops sets it on the bar for all the employees to try! Really!! Still he didn't come over. I then said to the waitress, I did see you tried the Scallops and she said yes because they did come in fresh today. So be that as it may, as a chef myself that display should have be done in the kitchen NOT in front of the customer! Even as we got up to leave he didn't ask how was everything was, like he did to the people who left right before us. The whole thing was distasteful! We won't...

This place has the worst customer service ever, and that older lady, omg she is just nasty, I don't know if she is a racist, prejudiced, or just doesn't care. But She is not welcoming nor inviting, She looks ominous.. you have a restaurant fell with kids (4 or 5) at the host desk waiting to take your money but once you sit at a table, you wait over 45mins for your table to clear, that's when ur getting dinner. this place really needs to be cleaned up and organized, i dont know if she is the manager or the owner's wife, but she should stay in the back. About a month ago, I went in to have an early dinner before an event, and i had to get up and walk out because i was sitting there, and no one was attending to us.. we was the second table to walk in and eveyone else was getting their food and we just sit obsessed waiting patiently I before i got up and leave, the moment i ask about our food that we've been waiting for a 1hr she quickly said its not her fault and dismissed us, we order atleast 2 times per week from Bethpage...
