Updated 10/4/2022 - Fall Hunter Retreat I just attended the Yoga Shack fall Hunter retreat (yoga & meditation). Once again, this was an awesome retreat that was suitable for all experience levels. As always, Cindy and Michelle put their heart and soul into making this a great weekend for everyone. I felt such a good and positive vibe. It was a time to learn, look inward, relax and also connect with others. I enjoyed the yoga, meditation, sound healing, hiking, food, laughter, and community! I am looking forward to the next retreat! I love this studio!
Updated 5/16/22 - Hunter Retreat I just attended The Yoga Shack weekend retreat at Hunter NY. I loved everything about it; the beautiful lake house, yoga, meditation, sound healing and hiking. It was a great atmosphere and a safe space. It was a time to look inward as well as an opportunity to connect with other like minded people. The food tasted great even though it was healthy. Co-owner/ teachers Cindy and Michelle are genuinely good people who gave it their all to make this retreat a great experience for everybody.
I cannot say enough good things about The Yoga Shack located in Bethpage NY! I am a yoga newbie and just learning. The owner/ instructors Michelle and Cindy are awesome. They are welcoming, patient, pleasant and very knowledgeable. They are always available to answer my questions. They have a wide variety of classes for all different levels every day. When they teach the poses they also demonstrate modified versions so that there is something for everyone. They have showed me that a yoga practice can be enjoyable to anyone who is interested.
They have especially gone above and beyond during this recent pandemic. They have been live streaming all their yoga and meditation classes every day. I can’t say enough about the support they have provided to both myself and the community during this difficult time.
Update 12-5-2020
I have now been a member at the Yoga Shack for almost 1 year. Joining the Yoga Shack is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The owners Cindy and Michelle are awesome (as well as all their instructors). They are good people with a positive vibe who keep it real. You can see that they love what they do. They teach you, inspire you, challenge you, make you feel like family and make you laugh your a$$ off. I practice with them almost everyday and enjoy the wide variety of classes I am very grateful for the yoga, positive vibes, community, friendships, fun and laughter! I have recommended Yoga Shack to...
Read moreSo recently I decided that I wanted to embark on a new journey and try out a yoga retreat because I had been practicing at my local studio in Florida but I was looking to further my practice and escape reality for a week. After hours of searching online, I came upon Michelle and Cindy's retreat to Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort in Nosara, Costa Rica and decided it was the perfect fit for me. While I was definitely excited for this experience I had no idea how truly incredible it would turn out to be. Let me start by saying Michelle and Cindy might be two of my favorite people in the whole entire world, they were extremely patient with any questions I had and made me feel like family the whole week, despite me never meeting them before. The retreat was such a life-changing experience which involved lots of yoga, meditation, spiritual ceremonies, delicious clean food, laughing from sun up to sun down, and fun excursions exploring the beautiful country of Costa Rica. The only thing I'm upset about is that I don't live in New York so I'm unable to practice with them on daily/weekly basis. If you are thinking about joining The Yoga Shack or looking into one of their retreats just say yes and commit because I promise you'll be a different person (in a positive way) because of it. Love you Cindy and Michelle and can't wait until I can come visit and take some classes at...
Read moreA little over 8 months ago, my wife convinced me to try Yoga for the first time at the Yoga Shack (at this time, it was in the back of a house in a yoga studio built out of a den). Now, for me, I was never the person to get into "fitness" activities that wasn't a pick up sport. You couldn't find me at the gym either for more than a month. I went to the first class with little expectation, and I left with an eye opening experience.
Yoga at the Yoga Shack was so much more than holding poses, or deep stretches. It was about love, laughter, and a good time for an hour or so (however long the class lasted). After finding myself going once or twice a week, it soon developed into a 3x a week habit (more if I had the time).
But I can safely say I wouldn't be sticking with it 8 + months later if it wasn't for the awesome instructors. Cindy and Michelle make the classes worth while ( as do the other teachers there! ). They make every class an experience, where we can joke around, have fun and really challenge yourselves to bring the best each and every day.
Like I said, I would have never considered myself someone to be into Yoga, but because of the Yoga Shack, I couldn't be happier that Yoga is part of my life now.
THANK YOU,...
