I got a number of things to try out the baked goods at this bakery. Inconsistent quality. Service was good. However the baked goods could use work. The St.joesphs were fried and greasy you could taste the oil over the custard and strong flavored cherry. The Rainbow cookie was soft and the genache had no snap to it. Very smooth experience. Usually I prefer this style of cookie to be more of a cookie and less of a cake but it was the opposite and the chocolate was smooth. (Just a difference in opinion) I got the chocolate cake and carrot cake though both tasted and looked as such they were entirely mediocre. You could get the same quality at a buffet which isn’t a compliment. I think advice to help these recipes would be. More moisture to the cakes. With the carrot cake a little more frosting inside and the cake could help the cake also the cake it self could have larger chunks of the natural ingredients. Embrace the shredded carrot aspect to play with texture. The flavor of the spice was good. With the chocolate cake the cake it self was very dry. The fudge on top was the equivalent to entimens fudge, the one they have on the top on their fudge cake. Though that taste good it did not save the dryness of the cake. I actually choked on it! I also tried 2 of the fruit tarts and though they look gorgeous their is something strangely putrid about the texture. I purchased the kiwi and black berry tartes and they were both a squishy inside which is not what I expected. I would compare the experience to biting into a tomato where all the liquid shoots into your mouth with the seeds. It was unpleasant. I think something that could save those is some type of thick custard or cheese cake filling that was thicker then the fruit it self and possibly fresher fruit also if the pastry dough was alittle thicker it could add to the textural experience. Read moreA Gem! I Came here Christmas Eve in the am and saw long lines out the door. I waited patiently it’s an Amazing old school bakery with traditional Italian made specialties. I came for the Italian cheesecake and left with the American style it was out of this world! I dare you to find a better one. It’s serious! Decadent, creamy with a light Graham cracker crust cooked to perfection. My family went wild for it. Everyone ahead of me in line left with one or 2. I also bought a linzer tart and semolina baguette very good. Gabby helped me and she was a doll. I will be back, I highly recommend this place prices are more than fair for the quality. Delicious! Read moreI went here with my friend, after we went to the neighboring sushi time place for lunch. We both spotted this bakery when coming in, and we just had to come to check it out! My review is based solely on my selection.
Firstly, I love black and white cookies, and always a sucker for them, ESPECIALLY when made like this in a bakery!!! The cookie was big, soft, and baked with so much love! It was sweet, but not overly sweet, and it was baked fresh!! I did buy some other treats as you see, that I took back home for my family to have, and they loved the selections!
Secondly, the woman behind the counter was so nice, and welcoming! She was helpful with the selections I was looking at, and made it easy and not judgmental when she asked if I wanted anything else, and asked for a 4th sweet for the box. The prices are absolutely fair, and the total of the selection I made is definitely worth it, if not more, and will be back...
