Some friends had taken my mom to this place and she brought some leftovers which was very good. The lemon chicken was a bit too salty but the veggies were great. So I decided to try the pizza. I ordered online and drove out of my way to pick it up. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A PIZZA PLACE. I saw the menu the restaurant gives out and some of the prices are different online. Fine. So 1st of all, I don't eat pepperoni I could not find the broccoli/spinach pinwheel online so I put in the notes that I did not want pepperoni which was being charged at $3.50. My mother wanted a slice of pizza so he charged me $3.00 for it. (It's $2.75 in the menu.) I asked if I could change the pinwheel to the broccoli because I don't eat pepperoni and it wasn't on the online menu. The skinny guy behind the counter told me it is and he just looked at it. I told him it was not there. That's why I put in the note. He wanted to argue about it. I guess he got very upset over this or maybe it was because my skin is darker than his. IDK. Later he had the nerve to call me Sir when he knew damn well that I am a woman. Anyway, the broccoli pinwheel cost $4. I didn't know that and he didn't tell me so I thought I was paying twice for one pinwheel. I thought he owed me for the pinwheel he told me I owed him $.50 when what I really owed him was $.25. But after all that mess, insult, and confusion I shouldn't have paid anything! But I'll tell you this. I won't be back and neither will anyone that know. Lost my appetite after that ordeal. Later: The pizza was ok tasting but the pizza around my way is much better. I'm sure this guy went out of his way to find the smallest pizza and sicilian slices he could. It was smaller than my hand. I will give credit (2*) to whoever cooked the spinach. It was very good. Also, I asked for red pepper flakes and extra sauce on the side, which I did not receive. Not...
Read moreI called Phils to complain and asked for the Manager and when I explained to him what happened, he was rude, arrogant and nasty and accused me of trying to get free food!!
Instead of just offering to replace the food or refund our money like any good service oriented restaurant would with fresh prepared cooked food like we paid for, he asked me to bring the food back in or send him pictures of it so he could examine it himself which
You can see the picture I uploaded and decide if you or your family would be ok eating it. We have 2 toddlers and if we didn’t inspect the food first, they could have been hospitalized because of Phils negligence. Maybe because of the cost of everything being so high, Phils decided to cut corners and instead of taking pride in their work or food quality, they just buy frozen food from a distributor and sell it as their own like Dunkin’ Donuts does now with donuts. Rather than being made fresh, their made in a factory and shipped all over the country.
We are very disappointed with the quality of both food and service at Phils and suggest you save your money and order from the dozen better Pizzerias in Massapequa. We ordered from Calda Pizza and they were great with better prices, quality and service.
We also notified the NY Department of Health to report this incident and to notify them that the place was unsanitary when we picked up our food with dirty plates and utensils on the counters and the floors had discarded pizza boxes and used napkins all over.
Save your money and dine elsewhere, it’s your money and your safety your...
Read moreMUST READ. OWNER BELITTLES EMPLOYEES & CUSTOMERS!!!!
I'm surprised there is a wait staff at all. The way the owner, FRANK, talks to BOTH customers and waitstaff is SHAMEFUL!
The overall experience is enough to make someone SICK. The party beside the table my mother and I seated, were rude, loud, and demanding. The poor servers were overwhelmed. The kitchen time was AWFUL. They were in NO rush to send food out .
For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Capri. This dinner contains chicken, tomato, and mozzarella; what I got was chicken COVERED in olive oil and THROWN on a plate. When I sent it back, the restaurant tried to MAKE US PAY for the meal I didn't eat.
My mother and I asked to speak to the owner to rectify the problem. NOT ONLY did he make US go to him, HE STATED he will be MAKING THE WAITSTAFF PAY for the meal.
As he was speaking TO MY MOTHER and I, the tone of voice, mannerism, and behavior he presented himself with, was BELITTLING and CONDESCENDING. Not one apology stated or thought of.
HIS FATHER, the previous owner, would be extremely disappointed. This new owner should be ashamed of himself, and know that he will NEVER live up to his...
