Fairfield's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Perinton

I’ve been here once before for the fish fry and was pleased. Last night, Tuesday, was one of my worst dining experiences. We waited about 10 minutes for a table.. no problem. After we sat, we waited approximately 10 minutes before our waiter asked us about drinks. We already had drinks from the bar. It was about another 15 minutes before he came back and we were finally able to order the potato skins for an appetizer. It took forever for them to come out. The server didn’t take our dinner order until the apps were served. My SO ordered the Chicken French with a side of fries. The fries were overcooked. The Chicken French was way uncooked. My SO took a picture because it really was half raw. I wish I could upload the picture here. He had already eaten the first piece and now felt sick. Not to mention, his food was swimming in broth. It looked more like a soup. His pasta was overcooked as well. As for my dinner, the Linguine Fairfield, it was also sitting in a huge pool of broth. It looked more like a soup. The pasta was overcooked. The broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke, and red peppers were scarce. I don’t recall there being any mushrooms. I paid extra to have chicken added. It was bland and looked like it had been boiled. Oh and the salad that came with my meal had dark brown, wilted pieces of lettuce that I had to pick out. Back to the undercooked chicken. I called the waiter over, who by the way, never checked to see how our food was. I told him the chicken was raw. He didn’t apologize or say anything. He just grabbed it and took it to the back, disappearing again for 15 minutes. He finally comes back and asked my SO if he wants a free dessert. Really?? I told him no and that I wanted the Chicken French taken off of the bill. He said, ‘O course. I’m sorry. I know that can be unsettling’. That was one of the worst dining experiences and yes, I have been on the other side. I have been a waitress. So the food was horrible, our waiter was lackluster, and the wait time for apps and food was ridiculous. It wasn’t busy enough to have to wait that long. We definitely will not...

My friend and I went here about a month ago, I only waited so long to post a public review because I attempted to message their site but my message wasn’t acknowledged. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us. When she finally did she said “oh I’ll be right back to take your order. Wait let me check them out first.” Didn’t give us the chance to answer or ask how we were doing. I ordered my dinner as a wrap, she asks what kinda of wrap (shell) I’d like, repeated it back to me as a wrap. When the food comes she hands me a sandwich. We’re waiting for her to come back to order another drink with our meals, she never returned. A kid came by to clear my friends plate and offered to grab me a box, he never returned. Our waitress comes running by and drops the check on the table and says “you can pay at the front” and runs off before we can say anything. My friend and I wanted another drink and I wanted to bring some dessert home for my husband and myself. I brought my check up to the counter, ordered the cake, asked for a box, then paid and left the receipt on the table as instructed by the hostess. I go back to see my friend and let her go to pay her check. She needs to use the restroom first, so we stopped there prior to going to the counter, we are in there for less than 3 minutes. We grab our stuff and head to the hostess for her to cash out. Our waitress is at the front freaking out saying that her table (my friend and I) skipped out on the bill. The waitress tried to argue with me that I didn’t leave her receipt on the table, I had to walk back and hand it to her. I tipped her very generously considering the service we had, after her outburst at the counter and trying to argue with me, I wanted to take my receipt back and not tip her at all. I understand people have bad days, but to take it out on customers is unacceptable. When I got home and gave my husband his dessert, it was awful. He loved the desserts from Fairfields, but this one he absolutely hated. It was stale and...

We made a reservation for a Friday at 8pm using OpenTable (which is just recently available). It was a little on the noisy side so maybe not a good choice for a quite romantic meal.

We were seated quickly and our waitress was prompt to get our drink orders but we only got water at that point. We had a large carafe of ice water which was nice because we didn't have to wait for anyone to fill our glasses. We were not asked at that time if we wanted to order an appetizer however.

It took a few minutes to come back and take our order so by then we knew what we wanted for our main meal also. We ordered the Greens and Beans with Sausage appetizer which was very good and good portion size also.

I ordered the Jaws (large) fish grilled with Lemon Pepper (which is $.49 extra for some reason). I was not asked about any substitutions otherwise I would have substituted my fries for something else. My wife ordered the Moody Blue burger and substituted her fries for a salad.

The place was quite busy and it took some time before our appetizer came out and it was only then that rolls were served. The rolls seemed fresh and were very tasty. My wife's salad came out well before the rest of our meal, normally I would have expected them to ask when she wanted it.

When my fish came out I was told they were out of the Jaws size and had given me two "minnows" to make up for it. It would have been nice to have them ask me if I wanted to change my order even though I probably would have said fine. The fish came with cole slaw and thick steak fries. The cole slaw was to my liking (no or low horseradish!). I enjoyed the lemon pepper coating and sauce but the fish itself seemed bland.

My wife's burger came with a dill pickle. It was medium rare like she ordered which was nice. It is supposed to come with grilled onions but she said she couldn't taste them that much.
