Carmella's Wine Bar — Restaurant in Town of Pittsford

We stopped into Carmella’s on a whim tonight while in town, and I’m still wondering if I should start planning my next trip back just to eat here again.

The steak tartare was, hands down, the best we’ve ever had (and trust me, we’ve sampled more tartare than I care to admit). Perfect temperature, perfectly seasoned … we actually ended up ordering two! To. Die. For. Whoever thought raw beef could taste this elevated deserves a medal.

Then came the caviar + waffle combo. Imagine a buttery, chive-flecked waffle as the stage, with butter and caviar doing a silky, salty tango right on top. Each bite literally melted in our mouths like an upscale breakfast for royalty.

Beyond the food, the vibe was spot on. The decor is calm, comfortable, and well-spaced. The hostess, bartenders, and wait staff were gems, and the owner even stopped by to chat. Relatable, genuine, and clearly proud of his team, rightly so.

This place is a true gem, and I’m crossing my fingers we can squeeze in another visit...

Carmella’s Wine Bar is a special addition to Pittsford, exactly what Rochester has been missing! The ambiance is effortlessly elegant and cozy, with every detail thoughtfully curated by the owner.
