I love Macarons and have been wanting to try this bakery for a while now. I'm so glad I was able to get there this past weekend! It was my first, but certainly not last visit, to Eastdale Village. I was able to find parking quite easily and walk right around the corner to Amanda's Macaroon Shoppe. The shop itself is small and with a few parties ahead of me and a few parties who came in after me, having one register/counter person was the only disadvantage. The shop itself smells lovely, though not like a "traditional" bakery. The bathroom was incredibly clean. I decided to get a 12 pack plus oversize macaron. The flavor selection is varied and interesting, from fruit flavors to savory additions and chocolate varieties. The rose lychee (you must like rosewater); lemon basil (more lemony than basil-y); Coconut mojito (my favorite); and Italian rainbow cookie (including jam!) were among my favorites. Traditional Chocolate and strawberry were fudgy and fruity respectively. My son got cotton candy (pink and blue swirled, I think that was the flavor) and he loved it. I took a bite and it tasted exactly the way I thought it would. All of the flavors came through nicely in each cookie without tasting artificial. None of the cookies were bad, some flavors were just more exciting than others but all were beautiful and delicious. I got an oversize chocolate dulce de leche, which was good but not outstanding. Overall really delicious and I look forward to going back and trying more flavors and a bubble tea. For those complaining about cost, three dollars per macaron is pretty standard anytime I’ve gotten these, especially in the...
Read moreI ordered these from New York to Minnesota, paying $45 for a dozen. While they tasted okay, couldn’t truly taste a real difference in flavor, but they did arrive fairly quickly.
But that’s not the issue. I specifically placed the order requesting certain ones be left out due to allergies. They did not do any of it, in fact from their chart, I received EVERY single one my child is allergic to (first row: sour candy, brown sugar milk tea, strawberry Nutella. 2nd row: guava, hot honey (?) 3rd row: blood orange.
I cannot serve these cookies, I have to basically throw them out because the ones I bit into were half of the ones I was confident did not have allergy issues (my child is severely allergic to certain fruit flavors and can’t have honey in addition is gluten intolerant, the reason I paid so much for a dozen cookies).
But unimpressed. Wouldn’t recommend for delivery or to even purchase. I was really hoping I found a treat for my four year old to enjoy, but I’m extremely disappointed. Great dough, but the lack of flavor and disregard for allergies, I’m glad I got a refund....
Read moreI am minimally obsessed with Macarons but where we live they is no where close by to buy them. Door dash started doing international orders a few years back and thank goodness they did because I ordered from amandas and these were the most DELIOUS tasting macarons I have ever tried!!!!! They did a great job packing them as they arrived with the icepacks still frozen. The flavors tho.. it was like what I can only imagine tasting candy from Willy Wonkas place would be like. The flavors were so on point and out of this world. The frosted animal cracker was one of my favorites. The peanut butter and jelly one was like eating an ACTUAL pb and j sandwich 🤯 the lucky charms one was the same way. I could 100% just replace the macaron with the cereal and not even tell the difference. And I don't know how they did it but they out did them selves with the lemon meringue pie. As if they put a whole pie into a macaron without compromising any flavors. If I'm ever in NY I will 100% be visiting till then will have to do with shipping but that is a okay with...
