Tosco's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Rosendale

Where do I start….. My family and I have been to Toscos since the day it opened. When it first opened it was great however in recent years it has gone far far downhill. I have had MULTIPLE horrible experiences from getting my order completely wrong, being charged for something I didn’t order, and just flat out being hung up on or ignored. It is ashame since we love supporting local business but this experience was the final and last time I will ever go here or recommend anyone to do so. I called and ordered take out yesterday evening 8/19. Was put on hold for about 20minutes (understandable as I know businesses can get busy). When the lady returned to the phone to take my order I asked for a buffalo chicken wrap, a small stromboli, turkey blt wrap and 3 slices (1 toscos, 2 chicken bacon ranch). After 50 minutes I picked the order up and asked if everything was in the boxes ,slices, wraps etc which they said yes. Well when I got home I saw that they had not given me my slices (even though I paid for them), my buffalo chicken wrap wasn’t even buffalo chicken it was just chicken strips with NO sauce, and the Stromboli was under cooked and did not come with any sauce. After paying nearly $55 and only one thing in my order correct this is the last and final time myself, family or friends will go to Toscos. This is one of the many recent times that I have went there or taken out from here and have had issues. This is unacceptable customer service and Toscos has lost the business of a long time local customer. Addendum: Wow has this place improved! Now when I say "no cheese," I don't get cheese, and when I ask for light oil, I get light oil. A lovely young woman who says "thank you" and "you got it!" and doesn't sound like she has a mouth full of marbles takes my order. The grilled chicken is moist and flavorful, the tacos are packed with fresh veggies and taste like tacos should taste. In a recent order, I had one quibble -- my chicken noodle soup had nary a noodle -- so a wee bit more attention to all items may be called for. More important, whereas some local businesses have increased my stress during the pandemic through their failure to enforce mask and social-distancing protocol, Tosco's has been a lifesaver with its delivery service, which enables me to cut the human contact out of the transaction and have the order left on my porch. Not sure why no other businesses in Rosendale are offering delivery, which seems like a great way to differentiate yourself, add value for the customer, and increase sales. I never thought I would utter these words, but: "Thank God for Tosco's!"

Please just once -- get my takeout order right! I beg you! It's really not that difficult. A "chicken and vegetable quesadilla without cheese" doesn't mean I secretly want you to put cheese on it. Nor will I be happy if I receive a vegetable quesadilla without chicken again, or chicken and vegetables without the tortilla. Please -- listen to the order, write it down, talk to the chef, and double-check it, which means physically looking in the container and checking off the three key ingredients: 1) chicken, 2) vegetables, 3)...

I’ll start by saying that my dad loves their pizza. I also like their pizza. However, any time we have ordered anything besides pizza, it’s wrong. Meatball parms never actually have cheese on them. I ordered ravioli just to get home to find fried ravioli. I blamed myself for not checking before we left since I already know 9/10 times our orders are wrong, so I tried eating them. They were dry with hardly any cheese inside of them. After eating two, I ended up having to drive all the way back to return them for normal ravioli because they were that bad. I did not realize they sold fried ravioli, so didn’t realize I had to specify- they could have at least asked which one I wanted. Now, I will be honest, I personally have only had nice staff, but I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5 for that, because one staff member got extremely unprofessional with my mom for asking an ETA on a pizza, essentially telling her to leave.
