Old Saratoga Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Saratoga

Came here on a whim as we were in Schuylerville. I don’t like giving negative reviews but this was just absolutely disgusting! We went for lunch and we were the only table about 12:30 on a Friday. We were seated and it smelled really bad like dirty mop water. We brought it to our servers attention and she brought out the manager or owner (not sure), she explained that there was dirty mop water that was spilled and it got under the laminate flooring and that was the awful smell. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since the online reviews seemed pretty good. So we asked if we could be sat outside and they happily obliged. We waited over 40minutes for 3 sandwiches! Everything came out cold except an order of onion rings and my plate was absolutely filthy!!! It was sticky everywhere and it wasn’t “new” from the food on the plate… 🤢 my mother’s omelette was so cold that the cheese was hard again….it was just an awful experience. Where we sat outside you could see in the second door they have to the business and there were people lounging in pjs and blankets that you could see clear as day…I just don’t know but it’s not somewhere I would ever recommend. Great food, always the best customer service and friendly delivery drivers!

** I'm editing this because I haven't been 100% pleased with one entree in specific lately. I'm not sure what happened this year, if you hired a new cook, or changed recipes or something, but it's just not the same. I pretty much always order your chicken quesadilla and sometimes I'll order a few appetizers or other entrees. But the past 3 times I ordered the chicken quesadilla I've specifically requested no onions, yet 2/3 times there were onions. Now back when I used to order the chicken quesadilla a year ago, there were never any onions when I ordered, and the overall taste and quality was much better, and it was also served with Verdes sauce, which I happened to enjoy very much. I kept my review at 5 stars because I really do love how polite and nice you all are, I'll just find a new favorite entree on your menu. You are my favorite restaurant around, by far. Thanks...

I applaud the owner for offering really delicious food options in Schuylerville. Tasty lunch offerings, but for the price the portion sizes were pretty small. I came in with a group of 3 and we all spent between $15-20 for lunch and left content but not full. With so many other lunch options opening up in town as of late the value makes it a hard sell for me despite the quality. The owner also pinned my friend as "the messy one" despite him being the OCD clean guy of the bunch! I'll chalk that up as a friendly attempt to joke and make conversation.

Edit several years later - I have to think my first couple experiences here were just a fluke or due to opening confusion. My wife and I get take out from here a lot now. Selection is great, prices are good, portion sizes are large and the food is very tasty. If there is ever an issue the staff has always been very quick to make it right.
