Our group of 10 ate lunch here today. Olive garden doesn't take reservations, but it wasn't extremely busy and they had a table set up for us in about 5 minutes.
The food was great and everyone seemed pleased with what they ordered. They brought the salad out in a large bowl and gave everyone chilled salad plates. Then our server, Shannon, added ground Parmesan cheese on those salads that people wanted with cheese. She also brought several baskets of warm bread sticks, and when a person said that one of them seemed hard, she immediately brought a fresh basket of bread sticks to the table.
Our server, Shannon, was absolutely stellar. We had several people with a walker and a wheelchair, and she made sure they were able to feel comfortable at our table. Olive Garden doesn't take reservations, but there was no problem getting a table. They had a table set up for us in about 5 minutes after we arrived.
Shannon was quick, friendly, and professional. Just a really good server. So many servers can get rattled by a big group of people, but Shannon mentioned that she's worked in the food industry for many years. Her skill level definitely showed and was appreciated.
I ordered the soup (Chicken & Gnocchi) and bread sticks along with an appetizer (Shrimp Fritto Misto) for my meal. The serving portions were a good size, so I ended up taking most of my appetizer home with me.
The soup was velvety smooth and had an abundance of pillowy gnocchi. My appetizer was a lightly breaded assortment of shrimp, bell peppers and onions. It came with marinara sauce and a spicy ranch dressing.
I didn't order a drink (just coffee) but they seem to have a huge assortment of cocktails, beer, wine, etc The coffee was good, but it wasn't hot enough for me. It came with a small carafe, but the coffee didn't stay hot. Our terrific server, Shannon, brought me a new carafe of hot coffee…but it just doesn't stay hot in the carafes they use. That really is my only complaint about the whole meal. Coffee needs to be HOT.
I was pleasantly surprised that everything was so good. I always thought Olive Garden was overrated and I preferred to go to Italian restaurants that weren't chains. But I'll be back. Great food, great atmosphere and absolutely great...
Read moreour waiter started out attentive and apologetic after hearing us talking to the manager about how we were treated at the front door.. 👉We called we were advised how to use the pre-registration..which we used and when we got to the door the young gentleman said we weren't even registered.. When I tried to get his attention standing right in front of him he looked right over my head as if I was not even there AND had moved onto another guest.. I then went back to the car to advise my elderly mother of what happened and asked her if she'd like to stay she said "yes we were already there and made the trip so why not?" I went in and spoke to the manager about what had happened up to this point. It wasn't until THAT TIME , that the pre-registration WAS FOUND and yes we were in the system and she apologized for the "oversight at the door" We then waited an additional 20 minutes for our table. 😤😪😱 once we're at our table like I indicated the waiter was very attentive to our needs AT FIRST because he overheard what had happened as a door. We play start order.. a salad was done exceptionally well 👍😅🤣 .. unfortunately the chicken marinara was auditioning for the role of a pair of shoes .. When the kitchen manager came out to see what and how her shav had made it she agreed sent it back and another piece was brought out 15 minutes later with no sauce on it just a piece of chicken .. And so I could go on and on, as I already have, to describe the rest of the evening which by now is 2+hours .. Sooo after talking to what appeared to be 2 managers waiting in a PRE-registration line to speed up the idea of standing and waiting in line with my elderly mother AND THEN buying a "NEW PAIR OF SHOES" our waiter offers us to go boxes "In case we wanted to take our leftovers home for a pet" 👍😱😱🤣🤣🤣 OMG .. We were handed our bill .. No discount .. No coupon for See you next time discount etc And why b/c THEY ARE THE ONLY CHOICE IN TOWN . . AND THEY KNOW IT...
Read moreWe were a table of 9. Our waitress had alot of tables. We understand that she was busy. So we went to the bar where we sat by and the bar was not busy at all. I asked the manager at the bar for a drink and she said she would get it out for me. 20ish minutes go by and the manager and bar tender who were not busy at all were too busy talking to an employees family member who came in with a child and sat at the bar. We had ordered our drinks and most of our food before this person did and they were served before we even got drinks. There was about 10ish employees standing around talking to this one employees family that came, while we were trying to get service. We watched out waitress run around and try to get everything done with no help from any one. You would think for dinner rush they wouldn't allow the employees to stand around at the bar. I asked for the manager and at first got the manager who said she would get me my drink but never did. I asked for the manager above her and got an amazing manager. We explained everything that we saw and heard and this manager went straight to the one manager and all the employees standing around and talked to them right away. All of a sudden we got all of our food and refills and drinks we had been waiting for 20ish minutes for. This manager was amazing. She dealt with the problem and resolved the issue. I'm rating low because this was not the same service we received the first time we visited and that...
