It is with Great Regret that I say that I will not return to one of my favorite restaurants of over 20 years. My family and friends have had many celebrations here and I have recommended and introduced many people over the years to the charming experience of Casa Luis that once was. The owners have always been lovely, gracious and professional. Creating the long lasting respect and highly esteemed reputation of the restaurant. NOT SO. Was my experience last night. My boyfriend and I were RIPPED OFF by the idiots running the Monday night shift. I called ahead at 8:30pm and asked what time the restaurant closed. The person (who I believe is the manager) said 9:30 and to come down. We got there around 9. The sign on the door said 10:30. Instead of a gracious welcome we received a hesitant "the restaurant is closing there is no one here". Being a long time patron, I knew what I wanted and immediately ordered. I ordered Pulpo (octopus) and Paella Valencia. Both I've had numerous times. I was so excited for my significant other to experience the wonderful food and atmosphere that I had grown accustomed too. We planned a romantic evening. What we got was stale, cold chips. Cold salsa. Inky, bitter lukewarm octopus full of gelatinous skin. I forced myself to eat the octopus because I didn't want to waste the $12. My boyfriend tried twice but could not eat it. It truly was close to inedible. Neither one of us could get the inky, bitter taste out of our mouths. To add insult to injury and WORST OF ALL we were given a "plate of paella" each and the pot wheeled back to the kitchen. The paella was taken out the pot 2 tables away from our vision. When I complained to the manager he stated that "next time" he would put the pot on the table and that we were served everything in the pot. The paella itself was not even up to standard. The mussels were so sandy that they were inedible. We got a mouthful of sand each from the 1 that we were each given. 2 shrimp each. A scallop or 2 each. A small piece of chicken thigh each. A few thinly sliced pieces of chorizo. $24. DISGUSTING. We left the restaurant hungry. As soon as we were given our "plates" of paella. The entire staff sat down in the main dining room in front of us and ate and drank. NO PROFESSIONALISM. No romantic evening. We even felt that they could have been eating the rest of our paella that was in the pot in front of us. Immediately after giving the waiter an undeservingly generous tip of $12 for an AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The lights were shut off in the front part of the restaurant and the music turned off. We heard the so called manager say "that is that" and watched the waiter snicker as he looked us in the eyes. Not to mention the spiders and cobwebs in the corner where we were sitting. The ENTIRE STAFF that worked last night's shift SHOULD BE FIRED. I have never written a review before never mind suggested such a harsh remedy to the experience that we had but it was that HORRENDOUS. ONE THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCES EVER. RIPPING OFF PATRONS. SHAME. THESE PEOPLE WILL RUN THIS LOVELY RESTAURANT INTO THE GROUND. I will NEVER return. And unfortunately instead of recommending this restaurant I will now tell my family and friends...
Read moreThis was my first and last time eating at this restaurant. After taking 20 minutes to figure out what was spanish food on the menu I gave up and just asked the waiter. I ordered chicken and rice. When my food arrived I started to dig around in my plate to see what I had ordered. After eating some pieces of garlic and trying to get the chicken off the bone a waiter came over and asked me what I ordered. I said chicken and rice . He grabbed the plate and said this wasnt my order. He put the plate on the book shelf by the front door and it sat there for about 10 minutes and then he served it to someone else. I was totally disgusted. By that time I had already started eating my new pot of food. I know most places have video cameras so please view the video on Friday May 3 around 730 pm. I was sitting at the first table by the door with the small child. No kids menu and everything is overpriced. $$$ ..I was originally on my way to Cafe Havana and seen this place and decided to give it a try....
Read moreThe food is always great but the SERVICE SUCKS. Brian Greene a regular customer there has no idea what he is talking about in his review and quite honestly Brian it is none of your business. Your table received much better service because you spend a lot of money there every week. You are just being a jerk like U always are. And as far as a flask, that was my twins medicine for their ADHD autism that I have to sneak in their juice to take it. Why don't clarify with me before U accuse but that is just the jerk U R. I am sorry Delia but I don't like being a accused of something from a man that needs to get his facts straight. Also Brian you need to get a hearing aid. I ordered chocolate ice cream for my wife and expected to pay for it. All I asked for was a candle for the special occasion. You are the cheap tightwad type that would ask for a free dessert on...
