I have driven past here hundreds of times, finally stopped in. And we ended our visit asking why on earth have we taken so long to do so! Since it was our first time, the prix fixe menu was a perfect way to try a bunch of things and if it was bad we wouldn't have been too upset .... Well... It's safe to say I was far from disappointed. To start we had a lovely waitress who was attentive and very sweet. Ten came the appetizer, coconut shrimp and empanadas. The shrimp were great and the coconut sauce.,.. my god was amazing. The empanadas, though small were bursting with authentic flavor. Next the entrees. My wife had the skirt steak, it was the most tender skirt steak I have ever tasted. My paella was flavorful and also cooked perfectly. The dish was the perfect size, filling without bursting. Lastly dessert, I have had many "Lava Cakes" over the years but this one was amazing, and dare I say possibly home made. The Flan definitely homemade and was prepared to perfection. Our only regret, we didn't get the mofongo..... But there is always next time, and there most definitely will be a next time. UPDATE: So just over 30 days and I've been here 3 times .... Today we came for our anniversary. Was also restaurant week, had a fantastic evening, food again was terrific, drinks were also delicious and they give a good pour. This is a hidden gem of Smithtown, if you haven't tried it yet, go...now. Also need to add that the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Every visit we are greeted by a wonderful staff.

For Easter this year my family did brunch at Coco Bistro, and all I can say is WOW. I have to start by saying, we always thought that Maureen’s Kitchen had our favorite pancakes but every single person at my table agreed that the pancakes we had here were the absolute best we’ve ever had. We had to stop my mom from asking for the recipe LOL. Also, the vanilla latte was so so yummy. I had the breakfast burrito and my boyfriend had the steak and eggs and we devoured it. The steak is phenomenal and it was cooked to perfection (I ask for medium rare and often it’s overcooked in other places). Overall such a delicious meal, it’s been a while since I’ve been truly impressed by a restaurant but this one definitely did it for me. We loved it so much my boyfriend and I are actually going tonight for the prix fixe menu, very excited!!!!! Update: We loved dinner as well! Skirt steak we already expected to be amazing and it was, paella was also flavorful and I absolutely loved the texture of the rice. The beef empanadas for appetizers were so good that we kinda wish we had both gotten the empanadas! Chocolate lava cake did not disappoint either. Overall 10/10 will definitely be coming back!!!

While visiting family in New York decided to have a girls night out and we ended up coming here. I have been here before when it was a different name, I believe the Cuban cafe…nothing has changed but the name inside looks the same. The drinks were great, ordered a Moscow mule which the first one was almost spilled on me but it was fine. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. Only reason it receives 4 stars because of that and the flan…..I’m sorry but the flan tasted like it was in the fridge for a very long time and it was old. Wasn’t a big fan of that and we didn’t eat it all. I’m a flan lover and yeah that wasn’t it. 🫤 The food was delicious, I loved the chips and guac very fresh. I ordered the island salmon which was surprisingly delicious the coconut rice was amazing it was a great touch. My friends ordered the carne asada and the pernil asado…the carne was delicious and juicy! I loved it I tried a piece of it. The pernil was good too I do wish it was a little more juicy but all in all everything was cooked amazingly. Service and ambience is excellent. A little on the high end price but there is value in the food, oh and It wasn’t busy for a Friday night.

Omg!!!! I truely love this place.Only thing I would like to encourage is their gandules rice ( that night perhaps) it was not to ethic real gandules.. That day we went it was for my brother' s B-day and let this food guru tell you something. It's a gem and DIAMOND in the middle of Jericho turnpike close to the Smithtown's Bull. First the elegance and opulence of Cafe Havana is heavenly and exquisite. OMG!!! I went to Heaven and had to come back to earth to be craving this heaveniess.!!!! We walked in and were greeted by two great Hostesses!! They were so eager in making sure we were attend to. Thank you for making us feel so special and going extra. You did not even know it was my Brother' s birthday.Thank you!!! Anyway, we were sitting in elegance and bathed in royalty. Our fabolous waitress Marisa or Clarassia, please forgive me if I'm prounanced your name incorrectly. One causality due masking wear but mask wearing is key in keeping all of us safe. Well, she was sooooo attentive to us. I promise myself that the next and everytime I go there I definitely would LOVE to be waited by Marissa/ Clarissa!!!! Your attentiveness is extraordinary! An Angel from above. Thank you so much and cannot wait see you again!!! You are exceptional person. Omg the food with the exception which was stated before FABOLOUS. I cannot wait to go again!!! Cafe Havana has all the charm of actually being in Romantic Cuba. I wanted more great food...I wanted to learn from the chef, his dishes and greatness...Wow!!! I had my doobie bag for breakfast!!! Everything still tasted amazing and fresh..OMG!!!! I almost forgot the passion fruit and pineapple mojtos!!!!! What a fantastic drinks!!!!! I was definitely feeling the tropical in those mojtos...So FABOLOUS!!!! Lord, thank you for giving us a little bit of grace and hope with Cafe Havana!!!!. Can I have all them wait on me like everyday? I'm coming again and again, probably as long guys are open I will be your everlasting patron. One more thing, everyone need to try their guava cheesecake!!!!!!!!!! If you go for drinks, breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner make sure you have that cheese cake!!!! Cafe Havana you are a HEAVEN in a time of uncertainty. A ROCK, A DIAMOND!!!!!!!!! Thank you for making my brother and myself feel...

We had a party of 14 for a birthday dinner – had to sign a contract with a 2 hr. maximum table stay – my niece is a prominent attorney and could not believe the terms and conditions of this silly contract. So 1 and ½ hours after putting the order and barely receiving water, she advised the manager they breached the contract and the 2hr term limit is null and void and we were STARVING. The food finally came in the “kid “potions for adult’s size. For those in the know you will be VERY disappointed - Nothing about the grub here resembles Cuban cuisine - it’s a hodgepodge of Spanish/Mexican whatever they can mix together – phony fusion maybe – a real pity cause true Cuban cuisine will knock you out! For those looking to pick up women it might suffice like any of the other hundred other overpriced bar/pickup joint. . It is insanely expensive for what it offers, my wife ordered paella without squid and asked for more shrimp instead so they took out the squid and said “we can’t do substitutions” - so Einstein put the squid on a side dish – someone at the table will eat it.these are kids i high school.. Everything in this joint smells of greed and unprofessionalism – they are nickel and dimers – they shoved valet parking down your throat when the lot was empty, were going to charge nearly $30 to cut a birthday cake, they served watered down Mojitos for $14, the portions of everything from the appetizers to the entree were mediocre at best and the size of your fist. The place is ridiculously loud, the waiter moved like he was on major antidepressants, there only one restroom unless you negotiate the long stairs to the lower level – a disaster and total waste of time and money – there are a hundred better choices – I promise –...

My review is based strictly on my dealing with staff and trying to book a small party of 15 people. Not on the food or a in person resteraunt experience. I called twice and received the same information from seperate staff stating if their lounge (private area) which is currently under renovation was opened by my party date, I could host the party there. After the second call, I decided to call back and ask if I could book the space to ensure it was mine if it were to be complete. The gentleman I spoke to understood why I wanted the reservation even though there was a chance the space may not be competed. He took all my information, time of the party, number of people and type. I verified that I could hang some decorations and he assured me I could. He told me to check back a week before the event to make sure the space was completed. Not less than one or two days later I got a call from their "event coordinator" who also said she was the manager. She told me they could NOT host the party and I could not use the lounge. She said they were short staffed and if the lounge was open, they wouldn't be able to use it for my party anyway. She said they could let me have a reservation in the regular dining room. I explained we have 7 children going and we need a private space. She again told me they were short staffed and she couldn't help me. She said she spoke to the gentleman I spoke to and there must have been a "miscommunication", which there was not. I am extremely upset that their staff obviously doesn't know what they are doing and guaranteed me a space for the party if renovations were complete then reneged a...
