Katrinka’s Deli — Restaurant in Town of Southampton

The young lady behind the counter was not wearing a mask, and when my girlfriend asked if there was any meat in the Long Island potato salad, being that she's vegetarian and we had never heard of Long Island potato salad before, the young woman seemed to be put-off. She placed the grilled vegetables from the case into the to-go container with her bare hands, gave the impression that she wanted to close-up soon, especially when she told me that the grill was already off when I asked for a Venice wrap (didn't even suggest alternate choices). When my girlfriend asked to use the bathroom, the young lady didn't even look up when she said that the bathroom was not working. In the meantime, when my girlfriend retrieved a cold drink from the soda case, she noticed that the bathroom was wide-open and spotlessly clean. Lastly, a half pound of grilled vegetables, half pound of Long Island potato salad, and a bottle of water came to $17 and change? The grilled vegetables were $13 a pound; outrageous! My girlfriend and I have both worked in delis before, me for 5 years, and this was definitely not the way to conduct business. You make eye contact when speaking with customers, offer alternate suggestions when something is unavailable, do not pick up food with bare hands, and during this pandemic, you're supposed to wear a mask if you don't have...

Great food but the staff is extremely rude. It’s like they don’t even want to be there. Every time I call in for an order it’s “hello what do you want” not hi thanks for calling katrinkas how are you today. It’s essentially like they are mad at you for calling. I’ve never seen such lack of respect for patrons at any restaurant or deli. I would be livid if I was the owner knowing how disrespectful the staff is towards my customers. Mind you this isn’t a one time incident, this is every time I call plus you can see it first hand while you’re waiting in Katrinkas they are RUDE TO EVERYONE.

As mentioned the food is good but the prices are insanely high, plus with the staff being as unfriendly as they are you can easily go to another deli IN HB and get a really good egg sandwich from the deli by Planet Fitness… oh and the guy is extremely nice / values your business! Better to go support him then this...

Just moved out east. Liked this place was close, I eat out frequently and the egg sandwich wasn’t half bad. Was planning I going here a lot, until today when I got two coffees, I dropped one getting in my car. Didn’t even ask for a new coffee, just wanted napkins, they had none out. They hand me 5-10 napkins. Didn’t do the job, I asked for a few more, sweats and car covered in coffee, they refused. Fine…btw they were giving out free alcohol for the holidays…but couldn’t give a few napkins seems tough to swallow…or the fact they offered a tray for my drinks and didn’t give me that either.
