Albella Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Thompson

My wife and I got recently married. We are newlyweds, living in the busy city of New York, so one weekend we decided to get away from it all. My wife has relatives living in Monticello so what better place to go to than in the quite town of Monticello. Monticello is indeed beautiful. We had a great time with my wife's relatives and they were really happy to see us.

The night falls and we find ourselves hungry. Besides lots of green grass, twisting roads and tall trees, I did not know that Monticello has one of the finest Italian Restaurants around. You guessed it, Albella Restaurant.

As soon as we set foot inside the restaurant we were greeted with smiles. The staff is very welcoming. The restaurant itself has a very beautiful layout. It is well kept and chandeliers give the place a very unique look.

To my heart's delight, Albella's Menu is very rich with sea food, among many other Italian Classic dishes. So, it was only natural for me to order Zuppa Di Pesce since I absolutely adore sea food. BOY oh BOY! Was I in for a treat! The dish was beautifully presented and the taste was so vivid I couldn't believe my senses. It was just mouthwatering. I know that portions are large but I was able to finish it all because it was just delicious.

The owner noticed that we are not from the area and started conversing with us. What a good guy. He told us to try the homemade Tiramisu and so we did. Good recommendation. Both of us loved it.

Next time we are back in Monticello, we are definitely going to go back. Still more sea food dishes to try!...

Placed an online order today. I ordered a medium CHICKEN pizza ($20) and added a note to swap vodka sauce for the typical red sauce base. We’ve ordered this before and never had an issue. When my husband got home with the food, there was no chicken on the pizza and it looked like it was just red sauce (couldn’t totally tell so wasn’t sure). So I called the restaurant to complain thinking I received a medium plain pizza ($16). After speaking to the first girl that answered the phone, she went to get her boss. The boss got on the phone and informed me that there was, in fact, vodka sauce on the base (okay, cool) but there was definitely no chicken. She stated that that’s how they thought I wanted it based on how I ordered it. I repeated that I ordered a chicken pizza with vodka sauce and received no chicken. She stated yes that’s correct. I said okay…. And she said okay thank you and hung up. I called again and the same lady answered to which I told her that I wasn’t finished talking and I asked why I didn’t receive chicken on my pizza. She said, “well you wanted vodka sauce”. So you’re telling me it’s a $4 up charge to get vodka sauce on a pizza? She said “yes that’s correct”. I hung up this time. I find it very hard to believe that it’s a $4 difference just based on what type of sauce I get and, if that’s true, then that’s just ridiculous. Too bad, we’ve gone here for years even passing other pizzerias to get food from here and I’ve never had a complaint about them but this really put a damper on the whole...

I had fettuccine Alfredo w/ grilled chicken. Chicken was NOT dry & the portion was plentiful. The sauce was GOOD, not swimming in butter! It was NOT salty. The spinach was PERFECT. The shrimp scampi was great. The veal parm was pretty good. My son was disappointed with the portion size of spaghetti & felt it was not quite enough sauce. He declared out, loud at the table, the veal was NOT DRY or Greasy. or SOGGY.. The veal was tender & cooked to the right texture. The dessert was fine. We had wine & a cocktail which was good. The salads were pretty to the eye. I loved their house dressing! Umm, Umm, GOOD. We were comfortable & the next table looks close to ours but it was far enough away that we could NOT hear their conversation. It actually felt like we were the only ones there. Prices were reasonable. I will give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. I am very critical of restaurants. The place is clean,, the staff is clean, the kitchen looked clean. The staff was knowledgeable of menu items & wine selections. The only reason I didn't score them higher was, a staff member (not our waitress) took our spinach to the wrong table.
