Pains me to give a business such as this an average review as I'm such a huge fan of this type of food and want to support as many restaurants serving this type of cuisine as possible.
I went on their website to check out the menu and wanted to order something ahead and pick it up, it directs you to download an App ( Beyond Menu ) to order.
I did just that and entered my number in to get confirmation, nothing happened but thats fine......about 10 minutes went by so i thought i'd just call them and see if they got my order, they had no idea what I was talking about. The person that answered said they'd check and call me back in a couple of minutes ( Didn't take down my number ) , didn't call me back but I went to the restaurant anyway in the hopes that they figured it out.
When I showed up it was clear they really didn't and instead I got the impression it was being made as I walked in.
Food itself was really good, the Tikka Naan was flavorful and fresh and the Mixed Rice Bowl was very good ( although a little on the expensive side )
Food I would give a 5, Value I would give a 4....service simply based on relying on an unreliable system...
Read moreWe came upon this restaurant by accident; we were looking for a different restaurant - but they had either moved or gone out of business. Looking up I saw the sign for the Begal Grill. We were cordially greeted and given menus which had an abundance of tantilizing choices. I ordered the Salmon Curry (medium spice) and a side of potato Naan. My wife ordered a vegetarian dish. They had a GrubHub insignia in their window and it looked like they were doing a brisk take-out and delivery business. That may explain why our order preparation took a while - but it was most definitely worth the wait! The rice came in separate, elegant serving bowls as did the entrees. Everything was fresh and delicious. The server came by frequently to see if everything was to our liking and to see if we needed anything. My wife noticed that the food was Halal certified - for anyone who might want to know. Highly recommend this establishment to those who enjoy authentic Indian and Bengali cuisine. P.S. - They gave us some Kheer at the end of our meal - gratis. They did...
Read moreThe food was excellent, nice sized portions. The place is very clean. We loved the falafel appetizer plate - 10 small falafels, a dollop of delicious hummus, 8 wedges of buttered naan and a small salad. Fabulous dressing on the side. The biryani chicken was delightful, perfect level of heat also with a great tasting sauce on the side but not enough for the size of the serving of biryani. The ras malai was OK as the cheese dumplings were a bit dry. The mango lassi was very very good. The owner was very kind and accommodating but since he was the "waiter", answered calls, took payment and was in the back quite a bit, the wait time was a bit long even though we were the only people there as it was midday. Everything came out at once rather than drinks and the appetizer ahead of the main dish. We had to call for him to get our dessert order in. All said, we will definitely go back again to enjoy the...
