Went for local restaurant week with my partner and I mentioned restaurant week because I want to extend some grace that what happened to us wouldn’t lilely be the typical experience, so keep that in mind with this review.
The special that week was a three course meal for a prix fixe price. A couple items weren’t available by the time we got there even though it was only the first day for restaurant week there and so we have to pivot on a couple things, but those pivots ended up working well in our favor. For example, they were out of the 16 ounce porterhouse steak option, which we both wanted so we got an upgrade to a much larger cut and quality of steak (score!)
Everything we had was good from the bread basket to the soup to the main entrée. Both of our steaks were cooked just right and both our server and kitchen staff apologized for the issue, which was nice since there was no certainty we would get steak at all since they were out of the special option. They even provided some complementary pasta as well.
We wrapped up the meal with some dessert to go, The last thing to end the experience was the credit card machine/service seem to be down so if you wanted to pay by card, you essentially had to leave your information and they could run it the next day. I was a bit leery about this, but it worked out fine since I didn’t have any cash on me.
I’d try Jovi's again at a different time just to see if the experience is a bit...
Read moreWaitress made fun of immigrants because they couldn’t understand menu, then they took so long she said leave unless you decide to come eat here. We are sitting outside on the patio, all the furniture is covered in dirt, the waitress is now sitting by us blowing her cigarette smoke on us while we sit here. Literally waited for a long time to come try this place, and it has been more than a disappointment. We walk in, because we are two young couples they look at us weird. 100% the worst place I’ve ever been too and basically thinks immigrants are a big joke when they are connected to a Chinese restaurant. If you’re reading a review and debating on coming here, give someone else your business, trust me. Updated: a different waitress came up and apologized, asked what happened, apologized and offered some free desserts. Decided to not order entrees here, but my friend is friends with the owner and this seems to be an uncommon occurrence, it was just very off putting at first. Another updated: our waitress saves the day with free cannolis, but then the rude waitress that said it doesn’t matter what she does she’s off shift, comes out to apologize, maybe because her manager made her, and ruined the meal again. She seemed waisted, was pointing her finger at my fiancé and said she’s not racist and then walked away before we could...
Read moreWent for dinner 12/22. Haven’t been in a while but always liked it here and food was always good. Our meal was very good, our server was great and very personable. However, one of our water glasses had a lipstick stain on it. Asked for straws and water was warm. Silver wear and dishes old and dingy. My husband ate a long hair that was in Manhattan. I went up to the bar and they gave me another drink, but I would have expected to at least had them take the drink off of the bill and the owner to acknowledge and apologize. I believe he was sitting at the bar when I went up to request another drink. Even though the food and server were great, it left a bad taste and we probably...
