So I’ve been patronizing this business for years. Decades, even. Love the kenmore firehouse sundae and the sponge candy especially. It’s always been a pleasant experience, which makes what happened Friday night so….bizarre. My husband and waited in line to get some icee cream to go. There were quite a few people in line for to go orders, but the dining area was not crowded. The girls behind the counter were obviously behind an a bit frantic. We were obviously going to be in for a bit of a wait. Like many of the other people waiting for their orders we moved out of the way to the table by the end of the counter. An employees then yelled at us that we couldn’t sit down we were “in her way”. And had to go back to stand at the candy counter. There were a bunch of customers crowded over there waiting in line. And again, only a couple table customers. I told this person my husband just had knee surgery. She didn’t care and just kept going on about “what if a bus load of people show up and need to sit down??????”…….Like…..what???? And she kept yelling at me until eventually she told the girls to stop making my order and gave me my money back. She also said she was the manager. She was SOOOO incredibly rude I couldn’t believe what was happening! I have never experienced any situation like that ever in my 50 years on this earth. I’m thinking she may have been having some sort of menta health crisis. Still shouldn’t take it out on some longtime customers just trying to support a local business and get some ice cream. A truly surreal experience. And they lost a loyal customer. 🥲 Edit: I have read your response and want to clarify that it was in fact your manager who created and escalated a scene. I was just there to get some ice cream and not be yelled at. If your policy is to yell at patrons, they may...
Read moreI'm very positive , optimistic person, but this place which we visited a year ago , changed my day today. Instead of eating an ice-cream , they made me soooo upset and felt bad! A year ago, we ordered at the reception place an ice-cream, then we sat at the table. Today me with my husband and my mom, did same thing, we came and standing on our line, then I asked to look the menu , and the old lady yelled to me :" don't look the menu , look to display " The old lady was so rude, unprofessional, angry. I didn't say nothing. Then we ordered and went back to our table. Another old lady came and told us in front of all people : " you guys can't sit here go out !" We didn't understand why we should go out ? They didn't explain us, and we went to outside. After that we came to parking lot and were sitting in our car. I opened my ice-cream , they forgot to add walnuts which I paid , I went back , the old lady even didn't apologize, then I came to the car , then they forgot second time to add a sprinkle, I came again , she added , then I asked her why we can't sit here and eat our ice-cream ? She said to me that it's a new rule to eat in outside, but other people were sitting inside , and there were empty tables. I guess they don't care about their clients , and that client buy their products, pay money, I just don't understand why do they like that ? Absolutely horrible customer service Disrespectful, unprofessional stuff. One of the worst place with one stars reviews, which make a sense. Next time we will eat our ice-cream in another place, but...
Read moreThe ice cream was sub-par; the flavorings/product used were of lower quality. I ordered a Build Your Own Sundae with two sauces and one topping. I got marshmallow, hot fudge (barely), and Spanish peanuts. However, I was charged 95 cents on top of the $7.95 for the peanuts. The whipped cream was not sweetened properly so it just tasted of hardened cream and there was far too much of it. I had to remove most of it to make the sundae more palatable. I ate as much as I could to warrant the $9.00 price tag, but I will not be returning. If I want a true and well-made dessert I will be returning to Churn. Alas, they are closed on Mondays and hence this massive disappointment.
In response to your response: I am frankly surprised that you have not received similar reviews. Perhaps these are the same positive reviews from those who rate the Olive Garden as 5 stars; they do love a plethora of options. I am even more shocked, however, by the quality having heard that you make all products in-house. I thought surely low quality ice cream and high corn-syrup content fudge had been purchased. The over-charge is the least of my concerns. I care more about quality desserts. If you want to continue putting a full cup of whipped cream/butter on your sundaes might I suggest more vanilla and less whipping. For the ice-cream, reduce your air content. It was closer frozen cool whip than...
